Jared McCain is happy to be back, but hasn’t yet found his rhythm

Even as they get guys back on the court, it is still a ramp-up process for the Sixers. Jared McCain has been back for two games after injuring his thumb in preseason as well as still recovering from the knee injury that cut short his rookie season. His first game back in Chicago was certainly […]

Arizona Cardinals open as home underdogs ahead of matchup with San Francisco 49ers

Happy Monday one and all. The Arizona Cardinals are now sitting at 3-6 after one of the more embarrassing losses in recent franchise memory. Down 35-0 at one point, the Cardinals offense, defense and special teams all looked overmatched and underprepared against the Seattle Seahawks. That, along with the continued health issues, has lead tot […]

How Mitch Johnson has rekindled Spurs basketball

When Mitch Johnson was introduced as the head coach of the San Antonio Spurs back in May, he didn’t command the room. He listened. He was thankful. He smiled. He even shed a tear or two. Then, when it was his turn to say a few words he said, “I will attempt to do it […]

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 11/9/25

Good win for the Celtics and it's great to see guys who have been written off like Walsh and Garza coming up big in the win.  Magic fans are fickle.  They go from expecting a triple double from Banchero to calling him trash and saying that he's not a star.  It would seem that they like the Celtics players better than they do their own.  They trashed most of their own players and wanted to trade them for Celtics.  They also covet the Celtics coach.  My favori...

Preaching Process, Levshunov, Bedard, Bertuzzi, Another Vanacker Goal, and Other Blackhawks Bullets

The Blackhawks are off to their best start through 16 games (8-5-3) since 2016. No, I’m not going to sugarcoat the first 16 games to say this team is a Stanley Cup contender like they were in 2016. But the fact that their record is what it is at this point is far better than most even optimistic analysts thought it would be entering the second full week in November. I love this quote from Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill after the game because it’s both self aware and blunt. And it spe...

Gridiron Gab: Quotes & A Smidge of Hoops

It’s that binary time of the year.  When we try again to watch football with one eye, basketball with the other.  Sometimes it works, sometimes not.  Oh for the days of picture in picture. OK, not really. There are laptops and iPads and phone apps, and we seem to be able to manage. First, football. […]
