Chicago Blackhawks Making Interesting Trade Offers

The Chicago Blackhawks are a team to watch on the offseason trade market. General manager Kyle Davidson needs to add some help for Connor Bedard and company, and are dangling the number four overall pick to see what kind of package they could land. Ideally, the Blackhawks would find a veteran defenceman with term left on his contract to add to the group. Davidson also has a slew of NHL ready prospects he could include in packages, and word is he's open to do so. Chicago also has a whopping thr...

Chicago Blackhawks Making Trade Offers

The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be one of the more aggressive teams on the offseason trade market, and it's all going to kick off at the NHL Draft in Buffalo next month. Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson sits at the 4th spot heading into the first-round, but many around the league know Davidson has no interest using the pick, and would much prefer to dangle the draft pick to land a winger with term on their contract to suit up beside Connor Bedard. Bedard's growing frustrated with t...

Proposal: Blackhawks Linked To Maple Leafs In A Potential Blockbuster Trade

Matthews Knies was selected 57th overall in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs . He made his debut on Apr. 10th, 2023, against the Florida Panthers .  The Maple Leafs still had a competitive roster built by general manager Kyle Dubas, then, and defeated the Panthers 2-1.  Knies wouldn't contribute to the scoresheet, but played 18 shifts and 13:09 time on ice. Three years later, and he's developed into a two-way, top-six forward who scored 66 poin...

Exploring additional options available to the Blackhawks with the No. 4 pick

We’ve already looked into what has happened in the recent past when teams trade a top pick for established veteran talent. The results weren’t great. It’s worth noting again that none of the trades referenced in that article included a team knowingly giving up a top-five pick in the salary cap era, which is key with the Blackhawks sitting at No. 4. It’s pretty rare that a such a pick is traded at all , much less for an established player as the central piece. However, rare doesn’t mean ne...

What recent NHL history says about the Blackhawks’ options with the No. 4 pick

The worst-case scenario happened for the Blackhawks in the 2026 NHL Draft Lottery: they fell back two spots and now hold the No. 4 overall pick. That’s still a valuable asset and the Blackhawks will land a very good player, but the slide likely takes them out of the range where they could realistically expect immediate NHL help next season from their selected player. Only Gavin McKenna and Ivar Stenberg feel likely to step directly into the NHL next season and move the needle in a meaning...
