When you think of the MLB owners who deserve the moniker of Scrooge, Bob Nutting and Bruce Sherman tend to be the first names that come to mind. However, when you combine a miserly attitude toward payroll spending with antagonistic public comments, there are few families who ruin Christmas more for their fans than the […]
The Mets are reportedly interested in free agent left fielder Austin Hays, according to Jon Heyman. The team is discussing the outfielder internally as they look to bolster their lineup. Hays, an eight-year veteran who has bounced around between the Orioles, Phillies, and, most recently, the Reds, is coming off a year in which he […]
Jacob Webb and the Chicago Cubs have agreed to terms on a one year deal with a 2027 option, per reports. Webb is guaranteed $1.5 million with $500K in potential incentives bonuses, it is being reported. The 2027 option is for $2.5M with $500K in potential incentives. Webb was signed by the Texas Rangers last […]
As 2025 draws to a close, MLB teams have less than two months before they begin reconvening in warmer climates for spring training. Many teams still have yet to accomplish their offseason goals, and several big free agents remain unsigned. The Royals have been active in upgrading their roster, but still have yet to acquire […]
Were you an effective member of the 2025 Texas Rangers bullpen? Congratulations! You’re now on the Chicago Cubs!
Following in the footsteps of Phil Maton and Hoby Milner , righty Jacob Webb is joining the rebuilt Cubs bullpen:
Webb is set to make $1.5 million in 2026 with incentives that can push it to $2 million, league sources said. The option is worth $2.5 million with incentives that can push it to $3 million. https://t.co/FYmqCdkTCS — Will Sammon (@WillSammon) December 23,...
This offseason needed to be different for the Atlanta Braves. Especially compared to a year ago, the Braves not only had needs to fill but they needed to be aggressive in filling them. This is not just based on how disappointing of a year 2025 was overall. It is based on four straight years of […]
Another right-handed reliever to add to the 2026 Cubs bullpen: Jacob Webb is 32 and was the 18th-round pick of the Braves in 2014 out of Tabor College in Kansas. He made his MLB debut for the Braves in 2019 and pitched three seasons for them, then spent 2022 in the Diamondbacks’ minor league system. […]
Each and every season, teams need to sign players to minor league contracts for two reasons. First, they need to stock their upper minors with players that can fill in if the major league roster finds itself in a bind. Second, if that player is good enough during spring training, he can possibly fill a […]
Let’s hit another 2026 NFL mock draft.
As long as the Giants hold onto the top pick, I still think that someone will end up moving up for it, and they’d be wise to trade back a few spots. Plus, the Bears add a different EDGE, and the Chiefs pick up the most dangerous offensive player in the draft class .
2026 NFL Mock Draft
1. New York Jets (via NYG): QB Fernando Mendoza – Indiana
If the Giants end up with the top pick, they will almost certainly deal it. I’m sure they’d ra...
With the 2025 Texas Rangers season having come to an end, we shall be, over the course of the offseason, taking a look at every player who appeared in a major league game for the Texas Rangers in 2025. Today we are looking at outfielder Dustin Harris. Dustin Harris had a weirdly memorable time in the […]
It was three years ago today that the Jays traded Lourdes Gurriel and Gabriel Moreno to the Diamondbacks for Daulton Varsho. I think it is fair to say the trade wasn’t universally loved at the time. Moreno was one of our top prospects and wearer of the ‘Catcher of the Future’ medalion, which was passed […]
The Pittsburgh Pirates are looking to continue to add quality hitters to their lineup this offseason and have been tied to yet another high profile free-agent. The organization has been tied to the signings of the top two Japanese free-agents this winter, in Munetaka Murakami and Kazuma Okamoto. The former just signed a very team […]
Heading toward the 2026 season, the shortstop position remains the biggest long-term question mark on the Tigers’ roster. Sure, they’ll have plenty of work to do in regards to the starting rotation once, and assuming, Tarik Skubal leaves in free agency. But the position group is fairly well set up for the future with the […]
As we approach the end of 2025, it’s time to post various year-end reviews. So as has been my practice in previous years, I am today posting 10 of what I think are the best Cubs photos of the past season. The Cubs in Japan Here, the Cubs (first-base side) and Dodgers (third-base side) lineup […]
The 1983 New York Yankees finished third in the American League East. Their 91-71 record wasn’t good enough to make the postseason for the second year in a row, but it wasn’t as though they were a team to scoff at, and some improvements could get them back in the hunt. After that season, a […]
Next up in our look back at the A’s players in 2025, we turn back to the position player side of things by remembering the season with Brent Rooker. How did the former All-Star and Silver Slugger fare in 2025? How was he acquired? Brent was drafted twice by the Minnesota Twins. He was originally […]
Not a whole lot went right for the Atlanta Braves as a whole in 2025, as evidenced by the fact that they ended up missing the Postseason for the first time since 2017. However, despite all of the muck and mire that this team had to trudge through during the past season, one thing that […]
Originally conceived as mere rivals to the Savannah Bananas, the Party Animals have taken on a life of their own and baseball gays are here for it.
The post No. 15 of 2025: They flex, they strut, they pose shirtless — meet the gayest team in baseball appeared first on Outsports .
Alex Tatsch will not play in the Pinstripe Bowl due to injury. Penn State’s Pinstripe Bowl uniforms will feature the white collars on the jersey. Guy Gadowsky talked about bringing his club players up to D1 hockey when he came to Penn State. Former Penn State goaltender Arsenii Sergeev made 52 saves in his AHL […]
Dalton Rushing got his chance to earn some time in the big leagues in 2025, serving as the understudy to Will Smith after the Dodgers released Austin Barnes and platooning with Ben Rortvedt while Smith dealt with a hand injury. Rushing was ranked as the Dodgers’ no. 1 prospect entering the 2025 season, and it […]
Here is a look at how the Las Vegas Raiders’ rookie class fared in a 23-21 loss at the Houston Texans on Sunday and ahead to Week 17’s home game against the New York Giants. Ashton Jeanty: The No. 6 overall draft pick played 92 percent of the snaps and 21 percent increase from the […]
What started out as a highly confusing free agent signing by the Phillies turned into something resembling a disaster at the end of the season. No one really can pinpoint why the team targeted Max Kepler as a way to spend free agent dollars, but spend they did. It just didn’t work. 2025 stats: 474 […]
In what as been an incredibly disappointing season, the Arizona Cardinals still have two Pro Bowl players. Trey McBride and Budda Baker were both once again selected to represent the Arizona Cardinals in the Pro Bowl. From the team: S Budda Baker Baker was named to his eighth Pro Bowl and seventh consecutive selection at […]
Japanese slugging corner infielder Kazuma Okamoto is available to MLB teams until January 4, at which time his posting period ends. Either he’s signed a contract by then, or he hasn’t, and that’s now less than two weeks away. I’d say things have to start heating up soon, but then again, we didn’t really hear much of anything on Munetaka Murakami until a few days before his posting concluded, and he ultimately signed a two-year, $34 million deal with the White Sox this weekend.
Jon Heyman ...
Let’s take a moment and remember the Colson Montgomery of just nine months ago. His year started with a prospect report from FanGraphs in which the very first sentence was, “Montgomery is in a free fall.” It was more scathing than a Pitchfork review of Raffi’s “Bananaphone.” Things got worse when the season started. Montgomery […]
