Orioles news: A welcome return home for the Birds

Good morning, Camden Chatters. It’s nice to be back home, isn’t it? The Orioles returned from their nine-game trek to the West Coast — their longest road trip in two years — with a solid victory against the Nationals on Pride Night to begin a six-game homestand. While one win over a reeling Nats team […]

Washington Commanders UDFA Spotlight: defensive tackle Jeffrey M’ba, SMU

Jeffrey M’ba’s (umh-BAH) NFL journey spans three continents, includes four languages and took 27 years to reach fruition. The big defensive tackle was born in Librevile, Gabon, on Africa’s west coast but would quickly call a different continent home, as he moved to France at age four. Jeffrey’s cultural immersion continued at age 13, when […]

Capitals’ first-round pick Oliver Suvanto modeled his game after Aleksander Barkov, ‘wiling to do the work’ to make the NHL

BUFFALO, NY — The Washington Capitals drafted their first Finnish player in two decades on Friday, selecting two-way center Oliver Suvanto with the 18th overall pick at the 2026 NHL Draft. The moment was a dream come true for Suvato, but the full-of-personality Finn admitted his mind was elsewhere at points during the first 17

Why Wizards must avoid Anthony Davis extension after $212 million Trae Young deal

Thanks to shrewd asset and salary cap management, the Washington Wizards acquired four-time All-Star Trae Young and five-time All-NBA big man Anthony Davis for several expendable players and none of their own first-round picks last season. Now, they must preserve as much flexibility as possible moving forward, which means not giving Davis a new deal. Friday Pride Night Orioles GIF Party

It is Friday. The Orioles have returned home and beat the Nationals, 3-1. Trevor Rogers was good. Coby Mayo was also good! There were some shenanigans, but not enough to keep the Orioles from getting the win. YOU KNOW WHAT MUST BE DONE (GIFS!)

Trevor Rogers shines brightly on Pride Night, O’s beat Nationals, 3-1

Happy Pride Night! After a rousing electric guitar version of the Star-Spangled Banner, the Orioles came on out and delivered an inspired Friday win, defeating the Nationals in a tidy 3-1 contest. It wasn’t the most explosive offensive performance ever, but left-handed starter Trevor Rogers certainly brought the energy, going 6 1/3 innings with a […]

Blues win Mason McTavish sweepstakes with Ducks trade

The St. Louis Blues, who traded Jordan Kyrou to the Washington Capitals just days ago, needed to act quickly and find a way to replace the offensive production Kyrou provided, especially after missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs this past season. They’ve now done so with one of the many trades that have been completed so […] The post Blues win Mason McTavish sweepstakes with Ducks trade appeared first on ClutchPoints .

Wizards add Cal forward John Camden to Summer League roster

The Washington Wizards have added undrafted free agent John Camden to their Summer League roster, DraftExpress reported Friday. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds during his senior season at Cal. He shot 39.5% from 3-point range on nearly seven attempts per game. Camden, 24, also played for Memphis, Virginia Tech and Delaware. […]

Friday night Orioles game thread: vs. Nationals, 7:05 ET

Back to Baltimore march the Orioles, but we can’t say it’s with anything like momentum. The team went 4-5 in a nine-game road series against Seattle and both Los Angeles teams, at least several of those winnable games. The Birds probably should have swept the Dodgers, crazy as it sounds, but Ryan Helsley was fresh […]

Why does Wizards’ AJ Dybantsa love basketball? Blame Spider-Man

Washington Wizards’ first overall pick AJ Dybantsa revealed how his father pushed him toward picking up a basketball, and how the Spider-Man part of his origin story, is just a coincidence. After being selected first overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, this week, Wizards’ Dybantsa addressed the media in his new home. Ahead of his […] The post Why does Wizards’ AJ Dybantsa love basketball? What kept Capitals’ Chris Patrick awake at night before Alex Tuch, Jordan Kyrou deals

Thanks to the work of general manager Chris Patrick, the Washington Capitals have acquired not one but two right-handed players with plenty of offensive upside. He acquired Jordan Kyrou from the St. Louis Blues, and then acquired Alex Tuch from the Buffalo Sabres in a sign-and-trade deal, locking him up to an eight-year extension. All […] The post What kept Capitals’ Chris Patrick awake at night before Alex Tuch, Jordan Kyrou deals appeared first on ClutchPoints .

Ok that was all bad

The question now is - do they do something about it?  The Nats pen has been known to be bad. They currently have the second worst ERA in the majors at 5.05 and yes it was a little better before this series but it was still well ensconced in the bottom group of teams, ahead of the Twins. They've giving up the third most walks (172) and by FAR the most home runs (61).  To be fair they've been asked to pitch way more than any other team.  Their 392 innings is 10% more than the 3rd ...

Tom McCarthy is Great – You Just Don’t Get the Difference Between a TV Broadcaster and a Radio Broadcaster

Before we get too far, let me recap why Tom McCarthy has been thrust into the discourse for readers who may just be joining us. Here’s what happened: On Wednesday night, Derek Hill hit a massive pinch-hit home run in the ninth inning to give the Phillies the lead over the Nationals and eventually win […] The post Tom McCarthy is Great – You Just Don’t Get the Difference Between a TV Broadcaster and a Radio Broadcaster appeared first on Crossing Broad .
