The Colorado Buffaloes bounced back in a big way, picking up their first conference win against the 22nd-ranked Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday afternoon in Boulder. The offense was cruising, with improved quarterback play and a continued reliance on the run game in big spots. CU’s defense held a Matt Campbell-coached offense to only 17 […]
Desmond Purnell had two interceptions, one a pick-six, Wesley Fair had a scoop-and-score, Joe Jackson got his first 100-yard game, and Garrett Oakley caught two touchdown passes to become K-State’s career leader among tight ends as the Kansas State Wildcats exploded for a 41-21 win over the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday at Bill Snyder […]
That one was never in doubt. The Deacs travelled across the entire country and dominated the winless Oregon State Beavers by a score of 39-14. This one probably could have looked even worse if Wake hadn’t let off the gas pedal in the 4th quarter. Right before the game started, it was announced that starting […]
We’ve spent 2 months watching Fiorentina flail around and slowly sink underwater. Whatever Stefano Pioli has tried has failed, with one brief exception. During the first half of the Como game, the Viola, deployed in a 4-4-2, demonstrated flashes of competence. Yes, it was against a bad team. Yes, it relied on the element of […]
It’s nice that the folks at ESPN felt that the season opener for the Hurricanes warranted being carried on a national platform, and the game sure delivered. While several can complain about the fact that it was on ESPN’s streaming service, at least it meant they were able to show the entirety of the Storm […]
The good news is that next weekend the Hokies are idle for their bye weekend. The bad news is that on Friday October 24th they have to play the remainder of the season. Admittedly it starts against Cal. The Golden Bears are struggling about as much as the Hokies so that should actually be a […]
GEAUX!!! Welcome back to the grind. After being forced to stew on the Ole Miss loss, LSU is back from having last week off and will play host to South Carolina. I don’t really know what to expect from this LSU team in the longterm, but in the here and now I do still expect […]
6:30pm Jayhawk Time. That’s when Kansas takes on one of the toughest matchups they’ll see all year, in a trip to Lubbock to face a top 10 Tech team. This is a prime time game on Fox, so it’s time to show out. Rock Chalk!
©Colette Lewis 2025--Spring, Texas--When Michael Antonius defeated Andrew Johnson 6-4, 6-3 in the ITF J300 Pan American Closed boys final on an adjacent court Saturday morning, Chukwumelije Clarke was down a set to Carrie-Anne Hoo in the girls final. But the No. 6 seed had an unlikely source of motivation to begin a comeback: keeping up with her Little Mo 9-and-under mixed doubles teammate."I was
The Washington State Cougars held a lead at multiple points in Oxford, Mississippi, but ultimately fell just short of an all-time upset, losing to No. 4 Ole Miss Rebels 24-21. WSU (3-3) held a 14-10 lead nearing the end of the third quarter before Ole Miss (6-0, 3-0 in SEC) rattled off 10 unanswered points […]
Miami Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips could dominate a depleted Los Angeles Chargers O-line, exploiting backup tackles to pressure QB Justin Herbert.
Welcome to Saturday night, folks! Hopefully you’ve had yourself a decent weekend thus far. We’re in for some rainy weather in New England this weekend, which we kind of need based on recent weather patterns. Anyways, that’s my meteorology update. The Bruins are back in action tonight, playing host once again, this time to the […]
The Maple Leafs are hoping to stay perfect to start the season as they visit a Red Wings team seeking a bounce-back effort after an ugly season-opening loss to the Canadiens (7:00 p.m., Sportsnet). Game Day Quotes Craig Berube on expecting a big push from the Red Wings after their blowout loss in their home […]

Heartburn thy name is Ole Miss versus non-conference opponents in October. The No. 4 Rebels (6-0 3-0 SEC) used a career day from running back Kewan Lacy and some key defensive stops to keep Washington St. (3-3) at bay in Oxford, 24-21. Credit to some of the national media and college football analysts, this was […]

National League Division Series: Game Five Thread
The Cubs put together a solid game four win, shutting out the Brewers to knot the series up at 2-2. They travel North to Milwaukee to finish things up, with this NLDS going to a full five games. Both teams are opting to use an opener. The Cubs are tapping lefty Drew Pomeranz and the Brewers are going with righty Trevor Megill. The Cubs should have both Shota Imanage and Colin Rea available on regular rest. The Brewers will have Misiorowski, ...
For the third week in a row, there’s no good news in Colorado’s injury report. The Buffs entered their 1:30 p.m. matchup with Iowa State as the Big 12’s most injured team, as 17 players are listed as out on their conference-mandated injury report. Offensively, Colorado will once again be without running backs Simeon Price […]
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (5-3-3, 0-3-1 ACC) will look to get their season back on track this evening against the Cal Golden Bears (4-5-2, 1-3-1 ACC) in Berkeley, CA. Going into this game, the Deacs are on a 3 game losing streak in conference play, with defeats to #8 UVA, Clemson, and, most recently, […]
What a weirdly terrible season it’s been so far here in 2025. Your Kansas State Wildcats enter the second half of the season at 2-4 overall and 1-2 in (official) Big 12 play. The season isn’t over, and there is still a legitimate path to bowl eligibility. But it’s not going to be easy despite […]
Well, gang, we’re swiftly approaching the stage of Rival Roundup winters where I’ll just have to start making up stories. That’s because with Detroit’s recent elimination from the postseason, all five AL Central teams are in a holding pattern until the league’s offseason can officially start. So while the greater baseball world will be tuning […]
Well there’s still one more division series game too….but here’s a chance to share thoughts for those of you following the postseason.
Elimination, surprises and home teams gone bad. Last week, I bragged (bad idea) about how I was still alive in all four of my eliminator pools. Then came Week Five and a clean sweep in memoriam. Cue the Sarah McLaughlin Continue reading Week Six College/NFL Picks: Coach’s Calls to Keep Collaborators Cookin’ →
This game meant nothing and didn't show us much. Brown and White sat out and all of the Raptors starters sat out. The Celtics built a 26 point lead while their starters played but the end of the bench guys couldn't hold it and staged a basketball giveaway in the 4th quarter. It was an entertaining game and I'm liking what I see from Garza, Minott, Boucher and Gonzalez. I liked how much they still like Boucher. And love that they think of Pritchard as a Raptors Kil...
