Today I ended up having a bit of time to explore how some of the Winnipeg Jets’ prospects are doing early in their seasons. Since I figured I would let the players in the American Hockey League with the Manitoba Moose play some more games before I attempted to see how they were doing…that left me with the young men suiting up outside of the minor leagues. These include a lot of the True North franchise’s most recently drafted players, including 2025 1st rounder Sascha Boumedienne and other pro...

Despite injuries to three key players to start the season, the Winnipeg Jets have somehow managed to vault out to a 9-3-0 start to the NHL’s 2025-26 campaign. The underlying numbers aren’t anywhere near as good as they were last season, but the True Northers have been picking up wins regardless.
The door to Winnipeg’s rehabilitation center should be a revolving one with the number of players going in & out to begin this year. Issues started early when Adam Lowry underwent hip surgery in t...

What a busy Saturday for me today!! So many things I want to do, but not enough time to fit everything in. Of course sports are playing a big part of that, with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers facing the Montreal Alouettes at 1 pm ( Central ), the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets clashing with the Pittsburgh Penguins at 2 pm, and then the Toronto Blue Jays looking to win Game 7 of the MLB World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at 7 pm. And as if that wasn’t enough to have on tap….I also have to atten...

With 10 games under their belts, the Winnipeg Jets ( 7-3-0 ) and Chicago Blackhawks ( 5-3-2 ) are only separated by 2 points in the Central Division standings. The two rival franchises have had a common trait that has helped them to success this season ( graphic via MoneyPuck ):
As you can see, the Jets & Blackhawks’ starting goaltenders have been excellent to begin the 2025-26 NHL campaign. Spencer Knight & Connor Hellebuyck are chasing the lead in the Goals Saved Above Expected cat...

The Winnipeg Jets probably stole another game last night in Saint Paul…which is getting to be quite the habit for our hockey club. Through 10 contests, last year’s President’s Trophy winners have been outshot in 9 games. Yet, despite the high level of rubber heading at their goaltenders, the True Northers have somehow managed to walk away with a 7-3-0 record.
Tuesday’s action started off with some wide open hockey in the 1 st period, where the two teams combined for 26 shots. Some g...

The Winnipeg Jets will play their third contest in four days when the action gets underway at 5 pm Central, giving the hockey fans of Manitoba their first chance to see the Utah Mammoth this season. Both hockey teams have started off the 2025-26 NHL campaign in a positive way, as our Jets have racked up a 6-2-0 record while the Mammoth have surprised a lot of people with a 7-2-0 start.

The Winnipeg Jets ( 5-2-0 ) will face their first back-to-back game situation of the NHL’s 2025-26 campaign, but they likely should have plenty of energy left over since the True Northers only managed to exert a high level of effort in 1 period last night against the Seattle Kraken. Although the final scoreboard read 3-0 for the opposition, it was really only one goal that was the difference….and I happened to miss it while making a late supper mid-game. So it wasn’t that the Jets played horri...

The Winnipeg Jets ( 5-1-0 ) will put their 5 game winning streak on the line tonight when the Seattle Kraken ( 3-2-2 ) visit the Canada Life Centre. If the hometown club can manage to pick up another victory, then they will match the New Jersey Devils’ league leading hot streak. The visitors will be entering action on a 2 game skid, after being blown out by the Philadelphia Flyers ( 5-2 ) & the Washington Capitals ( 4-1 ).

Tonight’s NHL game at the Scotiabank Saddledome features a pair of clubs with differing trajectories early on in the 2025-26 campaign. Our Winnipeg Jets began the year with a loss on opening night, but since then have pulled off 4 straight victories for a 4-1-0 record. The opposition tonight, the Calgary Flames , have almost done the exact opposite…winning their opener 4-3 in a shootout before dropping 5 straight games to sit with a 1-5-0 record.

After the Winnipeg Jets dropped their home opener to the Dallas Stars on Thursday evening, their minor league affiliate Manitoba Moose will hope for a better outcome when they open up their American Hockey League season at the Canada Life Centre on Friday night. Just like the big league squad, the opposition won’t be a pushover, as the Antlered Ones will lock horns with the best team in last season’s AHL regular season, the Laval Rocket.

The hockey pundits in the media picked up on rumours swirling around the pending unrestricted free agent Kyle Connor yesterday and indicated that it seemed the Winnipeg Jets’ management was close to coming to an agreement on a contract extension. It appears that that the information was correct this time, as True North General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff got the American goal scorer to re-up with the Jets for another 8 seasons.
