Wednesday Bantering: Anthony Santander

Happy Wednesday. I have the Canada/Czechia game on this morning. As I’m watching, it is tied in the second. It is far too intense at the moment. The Jays’ news of the morning is that Anthony Santander told reporters that MRIs, last season, didn’t show the tear in his shoulder, but when he started up […]

Would you make this proposed Jets trade for Kyler Murray?

The Jets have a massive need at the quarterback position heading into the offseason. Of the possible options, Kyler Murray is one of the biggest names on the market. ESPN’s Bill Barnwell recently proposed the following trade to bring Murray to New York. Jets get: QB Kyler Murray, 2026 sixth-round pickCardinals get: 2026 fourth-round pick Midway through the […]

3 Flyers who have most to lose for rest of this season

The Philadelphia Flyers have resumed practicing although the hockey games are still being played in Italy. The season has 26 games left in it, and the Flyers need to go on a very hot streak with as many regulation wins as possible to even be in the running for a playoff spot. But beyond that, there are a few Flyers who have a lot riding on these last 26 games. Whether it’s for a contract extension, a boost in self-confidence going into the summer, or simply playing well enough to maybe find an...

How many more wins do the Penguins need to secure a playoff spot?

You may not be able to make the playoffs in October, but you can certainly miss them. The Pittsburgh Penguins were able to at least avoid that with their 8-2-2 start through the first month of the season, building up a nice cushion in the standings and giving themselves some wiggle room for the rest […]

Blues' GM Making It Very Difficult To Trade Players

The St. Louis Blues are in no place to compete for a playoff spot this season and there are going to be some moves, or so we think. There should be trades coming, but general manager Doug Armstrong is making it tough to pull anything off as he is overvaluing the players on the roster. Frank Seravalli said, "I think the price for a lot of the Blues' players has turned people off, so Doug Armstrong is going to have to soften on that or else they're going to be hanging on to their guys." That wou...

Rising Stars: Tetairoa McMillan

While this series is titled Rising Stars, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan has a strong argument to remove the word ‘rising’, because he already might be a star. It’s hefty praise to heap onto a rookie, but in the era of the NFL where first year players are thrown into the starting line-up in […]

Ryan Tverberg shines on first line, late PP goal allows Toronto Marlies to snatch shootout victory vs. Laval

“We started pretty well, came out a little flat in the third, but just stayed with it to win a close one.” – Ryan Tverberg “I thought we started well in the first and started well in the second. The fight gave us some momentum, and we scored a couple of big goals back-to-back within […] The post Ryan Tverberg shines on first line, late PP goal allows Toronto Marlies to snatch shootout victory vs. Laval appeared first on Maple Leafs Hotstove .

Minnesota Wild Will Have Challenging Time Pulling Off Major Trade With Rangers

The Minnesota Wild pulled off the big trade of the season and it might end up staying as the biggest deal between them and the Vancouver Canucks involving Quinn Hughes. The trade cost the Wild four assets: Marco Rossi, Liam Ohgren, Zeev Buium, and a 2026 first-round pick. That is a lot of assets to use on one player, even though it seems to be worth it as their new defenseman has 34 points in 26 games since the trade. But that somewhat limits the Wild from making any more massive trades. Chris...

Wednesday Morning Links

Morning, all! With the arrival of automated ball and strike calling and a challenge system the Rangers are trying to figure out how they are going to leverage it to the benefit of their more discerning hitters. Kyle Higashioka and Danny Jansen are using the positionally appropriate Crash Davis cliche list to respond to questions […]

Flames Rumors: Kadri In Favour Of Move To Eastern Contender

It's not a certainty that Nazem Kadri will be traded at the deadline or even this summer, but the heavy interest is there from teams desperate for a top-6/second line center with experience. The free agent market is never that good and teams will have to greatly overpay for someone if one is available. This is where the Calgary Flames come in. The team is near the bottom of the league and for the next couple of seasons, they aren't going to compete. Dustin Wolf is good, but will likely get bet...

Virgil van Dijk On Wataru Endo Injury: “We Were All Gutted”

Liverpool continue to struggle through a wave of defensive injuries that sees multiple positional players currently out, no fit senior right backs available for head coach Arne Slot, and even the emergency replacements playing out of position in cover now suffering serious setbacks. The latest was midfielder Wataru Endo, filling in at right back over […]
