Hello CSR! Welcome to Brian Answers, part two of your weekly Panthers fan mailbag for everyone! You all came in spades with a variety of questions this week, and I think the fanbase as a whole is a buzz with the possibility of actually playing meaningful football in late November/early December. We’ll see how long […]

Pavel Zacha scored with 5.6 seconds left in overtime to give the Bruins a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators, extending their winning run to five games in a row. The goal featured a bit of good fortune for the B’s — the kind you get when you’re on a nice run — as Charlie […]
Brad Marchand continued his hot start to the season, scoring a pair to help the Florida Panthers topple the Los Angeles Kings by a 5-2 count at Crypto.com Arena.
After surrendering five-straight goals in Anaheim, the Cats opened the scoring in La La Land at the 2:06 mark when Jesper Boqvist fed Jeff Petry at the right point and he sent a shot towards the net that Sam Bennett deflected on Anton Forsberg. Forsberg was up to the initial task, but the rebound came back to Bennett and he was a...

The Cleveland Browns will hit the field on Sunday against the New York Jets refreshed and raring to go after enjoying their bye week. At least everyone hopes that is the plan, as the Browns did not leave anyone feeling good in their final game before the break, a frustrating loss to the New England […]
For a pretty boring team on the field and at the NFL trade deadline, the Cleveland Browns know how to keep things interesting. As the midpoint of the season and the Browns bye week passed by, news that chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta was leaving the team to take over the Colorado Rockies came out. […]
Here are your links for today: Devils Links A late goal from Timo Meier got the Devils to overtime against the Canadiens, and Jesper Bratt finished things off as New Jersey took a 4-3 win on Thursday. Good morning Gang Green Nation! The New York Jets made headlines recently with a couple of blockbuster trades, dealing away Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline in exchange for a boatload of draft picks and a couple of young players with possible upside. With the trade deadline passed, now the team has […]
I am especially sick of bubble screens, but regular screens aren’t always the best, either! Such was the case early in the fourth quarter on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers faced third and three from the Carolina Panthers’ eight-yard line, threatening to score and tie the game at 13. The Packers love screens of […]
After rejoining the NHL’s hockey operations department, Brendan Shanahan looks like a short-term league hire with a long-term goal of running a team again. Among the suitors, the Buffalo Sabres stand out from the pack, edging the Chicago Blackhawks and Nashville Predators thanks to multiple factors. League chatter, and Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos suggests Shanahan would listen, provided he gets Toronto Maple Leafs -style autonomy.
Why Buffalo Stands Out Over Chicago and Nashville

The Buffalo Sabres have had mixed results early on this season, and this is made apparent by their 5-5-4 record. The Sabres’ shaky start currently has them at the bottom of the Atlantic Division standings, which is bad news for a team looking to break its 14-year playoff drought. If the Sabres are unable to move up in the standings as the season continues, they will likely be sellers this campaign. Because of this, let’s look at three Sabres who could be traded if things don’t improve in...
The Islanders are back in action for a hyperlocal back-to-back, with the Wild at home tonight followed by a visit to the Rangers on Saturday night to tee up a long and dreaded Western trip. The Wild are coming in on a back-to-back after losing in Raleigh last night, but we know quite well that […]

When Kaiden Guhle broke into the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens back in 2022, he was immediately thrust into a situation that was not conducive to success for a rookie defenceman in the NHL. Newly acquired Mike Matheson missed the a good chunk of the opening of the season, as did Joel Edmundson, leaving Martin St-Louis’s defence core with veterans David Savard and Chris Wideman, sophomore Jonathan Kovacevic, and a group of rookies including Guhle himself.

*The Philadelphia Flyers won the hockey game. Matvei Michkov finally scored a second goal. And Travis Konecny scored a goal too. Sometimes, things are good. RECAP !
*Obviously heading into this season there was a ton of focus on the Flyers’ urgent need to improve their power play. So far, they’ve done it! But they’ve also REALLY improved the penalty kill. A lot. [ BSH ]
*Speaking of improvement, turns out all of those folks yelling about putting Cam York on the power play over the la...

After a wild and crazy first period, (no pun intended), both teams settled down and the Carolina Hurricanes ended up with a 4-3 win over the visiting Minnesota Wild on Thursday night at the Lenovo Center. The win improved their record to 9-4-0. The first period had a little bit of everything except for outstanding […]
After having three days off, the San Jose Sharks faced off against an opponent in the Seattle Kraken who had yet to lose in regulation at Climate Pledge Arena. Missing William Eklund and Michael Misa to some last-minute injuries and lineup changes, the Sharks decided to go 11 forwards and 7 defensemen for the second game in a row. Continuing the team’s streak of playing efficient defense, a game against a fellow Pacific Division team was a great time to keep that up.

Coming off of a gutsy shootout win on Tuesday in Montreal, the Flyers wrapped up their quick little road trip in Nashville tonight, and it was another strange game, but one which amounted to another big win for them. Bookended by pretty meaningful goals for Matvei Michkov and Travis Konecny, the Flyers delivered another bend-but-don’t-break type of game, coming away with a 3-1 win and a sweep of the road trip. Let’s get into it.

Thursday night at The Rock was an early-season heavyweight matchup. The New Jersey Devils entered with 18 points and a .692 points percentage, both tops in the Metropolitan Division. Their opponents, the Montreal Canadiens, entered with 19 points and a .731 points percentage, both tops in the entire Eastern Conference (and second in the entire […]
