André Burakovsky was not at the Blackhawks’ morning skate on Wednesday. Head coach Jeff Blashill indicated he’s a game-time decision.
With that in mind — and both Jason Dickinson (who did skate Wednesday morning but isn’t ready to return yet) and Frank Nazar out of the lineup, the Blackhawks need another forward body to fill a lineup.
Blashill said after the morning skate that Landon Slaggert will be recalled and go if Burakovsky cannot.
Blashill also said Slaggert’s time in Roc...

Last Devils Game On Monday night, the Devils lost to the New York Islanders, 3-2. The loss wrapped up a 3 game home stand where on the positive side, they grabbed 5 out of a possible 6 points. Before the home stand, I had commented that it was important to get a few wins/points before […]

While there’s been a lot of attention on the hot start Connor Bedard has had to the season and Artyom Levshunov being among the leaders among rookie defensemen this season, they’re far from the only young Blackhawks carving out a role on the roster this season.
Coming home from a six-game, 12-day road trip, the team had a lot of time to bod on the road. Sometimes that can lead to awkward moments when older players want to chill and the young guys want to be… young guys. But the Blackhawks...

If you’re like me, you’ve been reading Sean McIndoe for years. His rankings pieces at The Athletic are always entertaining and on point. The latest edition that dropped on Monday touches on a lot of different topics, including the usual top five Stanley Cup contenders and, this season, the “top five” contenders to land Gavin McKenna (the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft).
The only bad news in his rankings are that four of the five teams in contention for McKenna are in the Western Confere...

On Monday night, Blackhawks legend Duncan Keith was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
He gave a passionate speech — perfectly suited for the way he played the game. He shed a few tears, cracked a few jokes, talked about Brent Seabrook and thanked former teammates, the Wirtz family and Blackhawks fans.
Here’s his entire speech. It’s 11 minutes worth spending to hear terrific remarks about falling in love with the game all over again.

On Monday, the NHL named Blackhawks superstar center Connor Bedard the Second Star of the Week for the week of Nov. 3-9.
From the NHL’s release:
Bedard placed second with 3-7—10 in four appearances to lift the Blackhawks (8-5-3, 19 points) into third place in the Central Division via a trio of wins. He assisted on Chicago’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken Nov. 3. Bedard then registered 1-1—2 in a 5-2 triumph against his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks, Nov. ...

The Blackhawks are off to their best start through 16 games (8-5-3) since 2016. No, I’m not going to sugarcoat the first 16 games to say this team is a Stanley Cup contender like they were in 2016. But the fact that their record is what it is at this point is far better than most even optimistic analysts thought it would be entering the second full week in November.
I love this quote from Blackhawks head coach Jeff Blashill after the game because it’s both self aware and blunt. And it spe...

The Chicago Blackhawks just finished a six-game road trip with a bang! The 5-1 win over the Red Wings on Sunday afternoon gave them three straight wins to end the trip. They come home with a 3-2-1 mark on the trip.
When you consider the first game of the trip was the first — and, still, the only — bad loss the Blackhawks have suffered this season ( 6-3 in Winnipeg ), closing the trip the way they did is extremely impressive.
A couple noteworthy team stats:

The Chicago Blackhawks hope it's nothing too serious for forward Frank Nazar. Nazar fell very awkwardly during the first period of Friday's game against the Calgary Flames, and did not return. Nazar was seen grabbing his knee in what looked like a potential sprain or tear, but at this point, no word yet on the severity, or how long he'll be out of the Blackhawks' lineup. The 21-year-old Nazar has been off to a strong start to the 2025-26 season as he's recorded five goals and 11 po...

Yes, you read that right: a shutout .
The Blackhawks got the scoring started 12:32 into the first period. Connor Bedard fired a shot from the circle that deflected off Tyler Bertuzzi’s shin and into the net for a power-play goal, putting the Blackhawks up 1-0.
