I feel like I had three different versions of this article completed in my head over the course of the game, and all of them fizzled out by the end just because of the whole *waves hand* Wemby thing. You know, that thing where the guy who’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen on a basketball […]
The Charlotte Hornets unveiled this season’s version of their City Edition uniforms, dubbed Hoopers Paradise. The uniforms are classic Hornets colors yellow and orange with blue and white trim. They are an homage to the birds-of-paradise flower, which was given its official name (Strelitzia) after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. I recognize some of those words […]

With all the knocking on wood, it seems like […]

If you can’t defend, you can’t win. The Brooklyn Nets learned that lesson once again as they allowed the New York Knicks to put on a three point extravaganza at Madison Square Garden on the way to a comfortable 33 point victory. The opponent tonight is a bit better than expected. The Toronto Raptors are […]
In what can only be described as a game fans will want to wipe from their memories, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Dallas Mavericks 116-114. The Bucks’ late-game foibles resurfaced once again and nearly cost them; nonetheless, a win is a win. Cooper Flagg led Dallas with 26 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Read […]
I absolutely did not remember that Rookie of the Year was being announced yesterday. If I had, a variant of the title of this post would’ve been yesterday’s question. At that time, whether justice would prevail or not was still uncertain. Right now, we can all celebrate. Something good happened this year, hooray. But, what […]
To say the last six or so months of Mavericks basketball has been weird would be the understatement of the century. Since the Luka Doncic trade in February, most Mavericks fans have been wondering when general manager Nico Harrison would be fired, as the Mavericks have toiled the Western Conference with a losing record since […]

The New York Knicks (6–3) return to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night to face the Memphis Grizzlies (4–7) and aim for their fifth straight win. The local fans of the Los Angeles Kings haven’t had much to celebrate this season. The team is 1-4-2 at Crypto.com Arena, scoring just 15 goals in the seven games at home which is second-worst in the league. They aren’t helping themselves defensively either with the...
The Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics are meeting for the third time in just three weeks to start the season. The Sixers took the first matchup on opening night the road, 117–116, before the Celtics evened the series with a 109–108 win. Combined, those two games were decided by only two points — a sign […]
Last night in Chicago, Victor Wembanyama tallied his 95th consecutive NBA game with at least on block. The ongoing feat is enough to elevate him third all time behind Dikembe Mutombo’s 116 straight games and Patrick Ewing’s top seeded 145-game streak. Both of the big men hit these all time highs over three decades ago, […]
For much of the fourth quarter, it looked like the Wizards were going to secure their second win of the season. When they were up 10 with five minutes on the clock, I thought of what I thought could be a clever lead to this article, which may now never see the light of day […]
When Jordan Walsh joined the Celtics as pick #38 in the 2023 NBA Draft and he was more idea than player. As a 19-year-old prospect with selling points of length, athleticism and motor, he was your textbook example of a project prospect. Since then, the flashes have been as exciting as they’ve been rare. There […]
All of Duke’s NBA rookies were in action Monday night except for one and Cooper Flagg had perhaps his best game yet. Flagg hit for 26 points, shooting 9-15/1-5 for 60%. The win marked Atlanta’s second straight, as they have gone 5-2 in their last seven games. […]
Things have been quiet for over a week on the Adrian Kempe extension front, as he and the Los Angeles Kings remained far apart in talks, and there was nothing new to report except speculation. Now, insider David Pagnotta has signaled a significant change, as he says that negotiations have resumed. They paused talks in October and they thought they were going to resume by the end of the month but they hadn’t. But I checked in a couple of days ago and it sounds like they’ve resumed those d...
The old ABA was a gloriously flawed league. On the one hand, it had to distinguish itself from the stodgier NBA, which it did with things like the three point shot, flashier offenses and the trim-colored basketball. On the other, it lacked stable finances, including TV coverage. And ultimately, even with players like Julius Erving, […]
This past offseason, forward Dorian Finney-Smith agreed to a four-year, $53 million contract with the Houston Rockets. The first two seasons of the contract are completely guaranteed; the third and fourth years are not, and there is a player option in the fourth year. The addition of a valuable three-and-D wing to the Rockets’ lineup […]
