The Houston Rockets built up a big lead against the Washington Wizards, and then they had hold on towards the end and a fourth-quarter rally by the Wiz, finishing the game with a 123-118 victory. The Rockets were led by Alperen Sengun, who finished witgh 32 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and a […]
The Washington Wizards faced the Houston Rockets on Monday night at Capital One Arena. The Wizards made 19 of their 35 3-point attempts, but that hot shooting wasn’t enough as they lost to the Rockets, 123-118. Julian Reese, who signed a two-way contract with the Wizards on Saturday, started at center in his NBA debut […]

Washington Wizards guard Trae Young will make his Wizards debut Thursday against the Utah Jazz, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. Young, 27, was acquired by Washington on Jan. 5 in a trade that sent CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert to the Atlanta Hawks. The All-Star guard had yet to appear for the Wizards as he nursed […]
The Houston Rockets head to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Wizards tonight. With Washington’s injury list (see below), Washington’s mascot G-Wiz might have to play some minutes for the home team. He’s still recovering from the cheap shot that Jaxson Hayes gave him earlier this season. March is generally the month where […]

The Wizards keep doing the improbable this season. Last night, for example, they shot 47.1% from three, were +21 on the scoreboard from deep (16 made threes to Toronto’s 9), and lost by nine. Once again, it wasn’t that close. Bright side: the Wizards need to keep on losing, and at least they made the […]
The Washington Wizards returned home on Saturday for a contest against the Toronto Raptors. Washington led by three at halftime but succumbed to Toronto’s second-half surge in its 134-125 loss. Washington made five of its first eight 3-pointers to begin the game and shot 7-13 from deep in the opening quarter. Jamir Watkins, who didn’t […]

He averaged 13.3 points and 9.0 rebounds as the Terps’ starting center on last year’s Sweet Sixteen team. He is also the brother of Angel Reese, who plays for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky. In […]

The Tuesday night loss to the Atlanta Hawks was bad. The loss last night was worse. The Wizards fell behind quickly, made a first quarter run when the Hawks slacked off early, and then got their doors blown off. Again. I’ve now written several versions of a sentence that communicates the idea that the competitive […]
For the second time this week, the Atlanta Hawks squared off against the hapless Washington Wizards in front of their home fans at State Farm Arena. After beating Washington handily on Tuesday, Atlanta delivered an equally emphatic 126-96 victory last night — though with Jalen Johnson (left hip contusion) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (left foot sprain) […]
The Washington Wizards lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, 126-96. The first half of this game was tough to watch. Washington allowed Atlanta to head into halftime with a 76-56 lead. I get that the Wizards aren’t going to be very good this season. But that margin and the total number of points the […]
Not going to lie, this was such an uncompetitive game against a clearly tanking team that I have nothing to recap. Corey Kispert had 22 in the first half and a career-high (!) 33 points overall. Newbies CJ McCollum and Jonathan Kuminga added 25 and 17 respectively. Please discuss the win amongst yourself.
The Atlanta Hawks (29-31) try to make it a clean sweep of a home-and-home against the Washington Wizards (16-41) without Jalen Johnson or Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Starting lineup: Please join in the comments below as you follow along. Where, When, and How to Watch and Listen Location: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, GA Start Time: 7:30 PM EDT TV: FanDuel […]

The Washington Wizards have signed Jamir Watkins to a two-year standard contract, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. The first year of Watkins’ deal will likely run through the end of the 2025-26 season, with the second year putting him under contract through the 2026-27 campaign. Watkins, 24, was selected by Washington with the No. 43 pick […]
His IQ was described as beyond his years already back in high school. Khris Middleton, one of the new additions to the Dallas Mavericks roster in the Anthony Davis trade to the Washington Wizards, is not just any NBA veteran. Second star at his peak in Milwaukee, once fighting for the top spot with later […]

Game info When: 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26 Where: State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia How to watch: Monumental Sports Network Injuries Wizards: Trae Young, Anthony Davis, Cam Whitmore and […]
It’s big board time! In this exercise, I will rank and tier how I think the Washington Wizards should view as their top 30 prospects ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft. Because I am looking at this from a Wizards perspective, this may look a little different from other big boards because of team needs. […]
The highlight of last night’s Wizards loss to the Atlanta Hawks was almost certainly the singing of the National Anthem by the Chamblee High School Mixed Chorus and River Ridge High School Junior ROTC. Catch it on a replay, if you can. Those kids did great. The game itself had me doing mental math figuring […]
Coming into Tuesday’s NBA slate, the Dallas Mavericks (21-36) sat seventh from the bottom of the league standings. Just the Utah Jazz (18-40), the Washington Wizards (16-40), the New Orleans Pelicans (16-42), the Brooklyn Nets (15-42), the Indiana Pacers (15-43) and the sad Sacramento Kings (13-46) entered play with worse records than the Mavericks. With […]
The Atlanta Hawks were back in action on Wednesday evening to take on the Washington Wizards. Though it’s not considered a big game, the major story coming in was the return of Trae Young. He didn’t play, but he did speak to the media before the game, and also came out to put some shots […]
