Yesterday, the Hawks took action to fill their third and final two-way spot with the signing of Keshon Gilbert. The report broken by Jake L. Fischer of the Stein Line substack: Caleb Houston was recently converted from his two-way deal to a standard contract. In that space is now Gilbert, who played for the Wizards […]
The Milwaukee Bucks face off with the Atlanta Hawks tonight as both teams battle for play-in positioning. The Bucks (four games back) sit at 11th, while the Hawks are tied with the Hornets for 10th; a Bucks win means they would gain a full game on the Hawks. This will be the second matchup between […]
I’ll admit it: I was skeptical when the Hawks acquired a guy who didn’t exactly endear himself to four-time championship head coach Steve Kerr. But clearly, sometimes a change in scenery is all you really need. Or maybe the Warriors just didn’t know what they had. Jonathan Kuminga was drafted seventh overall in the 2021 […]
Washington Wizards guard Trae Young will make his Wizards debut Thursday against the Utah Jazz, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. Young, 27, was acquired by Washington on Jan. 5 in a trade that sent CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert to the Atlanta Hawks. The All-Star guard had yet to appear for the Wizards as he nursed […]
The Portland Trail Blazers struggled this week at the beginning of a long road trip. After a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at home, Portland headed East and fell to the Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks. They also beat the Chicago Bulls during the week so it wasn’t a total loss. As tends to happen […]
The Portland Trail Blazers are going through a dip in their season, one of a half-dozen that have plagued them alongside several high spots. After consecutive losses to the Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks over the weekend, questions have popped up in the Blazer’s Edge Mailbag regarding several concerns, a couple of which are encapsulated […]
The Portland Trail Blazers got pulverized by the Atlanta Hawks in NBA action tonight, falling 135-101 in a game that was never seriously contested. Blazers guard Jrue Holiday scored 23 points, but Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu led his team with 25. Players of the Game Okongwu made 7 threes in 12 tries on the way […]

For the second time this week, the Atlanta Hawks squared off against the hapless Washington Wizards in front of their home fans at State Farm Arena. After beating Washington handily on Tuesday, Atlanta delivered an equally emphatic 126-96 victory last night — though with Jalen Johnson (left hip contusion) and Nickeil Alexander-Walker (left foot sprain) […]
The Washington Wizards lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, 126-96. The first half of this game was tough to watch. Washington allowed Atlanta to head into halftime with a 76-56 lead. I get that the Wizards aren’t going to be very good this season. But that margin and the total number of points the […]
Not going to lie, this was such an uncompetitive game against a clearly tanking team that I have nothing to recap. Corey Kispert had 22 in the first half and a career-high (!) 33 points overall. Newbies CJ McCollum and Jonathan Kuminga added 25 and 17 respectively. Please discuss the win amongst yourself.
The Atlanta Hawks (29-31) try to make it a clean sweep of a home-and-home against the Washington Wizards (16-41) without Jalen Johnson or Nickeil Alexander-Walker. The highlight of last night’s Wizards loss to the Atlanta Hawks was almost certainly the singing of the National Anthem by the Chamblee High School Mixed Chorus and River Ridge High School Junior ROTC. Catch it on a replay, if you can. Those kids did great. The game itself had me doing mental math figuring […]
The Atlanta Hawks were back in action on Wednesday evening to take on the Washington Wizards. Though it’s not considered a big game, the major story coming in was the return of Trae Young. He didn’t play, but he did speak to the media before the game, and also came out to put some shots […]
The Washington Wizards lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, 119-98. Again, like most games this season, the Wizards were the underdogs and it showed right away. Though neither team shot well in the first half, the Hawks were leading 60-43 thanks to better ball control and team assists. By the time the third quarter […]

Back home to a snowstorm! The Brooklyn Nets wrapped up their three game road trip with an afternoon affair against the Atlanta Hawks.
