‘Something He’ll Remember’: Miles Russell Releases Emotional Statement After USGA Overlooked Rules for His Special Father’s Day Gift

Walking up the 18th fairway on Saturday, the eve of Father’s Day, Miles Russell asked his father Joe to take the bag and caddie for the final hole. Joe had no idea it was coming. But Russell had been planning it since that morning, when he quietly contacted USGA rules officials to check if he […] The post ‘Something He’ll Remember’: Miles Russell Releases Emotional Statement After USGA Overlooked Rules for His Special Father’s Day Gift appeared first on EssentiallySports .

Cowboys hope for 2025 is alive and well on both sides of ball because of Brian Schottenheimer

The Dallas Cowboys 44-22 win against the Washington Commanders provided a lot of reasons for optimism moving forward for the home team, now sitting at 3-3-1 and second place in the NFC East. Many of these reasons all flow together as, above all else, the Cowboys played complementary football to support another big offensive performance. […]

The Hockey Show - Episode 683

The Hockey Show , Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, is back on the UMFM frequency tonight with a lot of stuff to go over from the hockey world. It's pretty remarkable that there's always something going on in hockey around the globe that is significantly news-worthy, but that's how the sport goes. Whether it be Canada, the US, overseas, the NHL, the AHL, or anywhere else, there are stories - both good and not-so-good - that should be brought forth for greater...

Opponent Preview: West Virginia Mountaineers

Traveling to Morgantown has traditionally been a struggle for the Frogs, especially going back to the Dana Holgorsen years. Unfortunately for TCU’s Big 12 entry twin, they’re hobbling through the middle of the season in Rich Rodriguez’s second stint for the Mountaineers. After a 2-1 start, the Mountaineers have been ravaged by the injury bug […]

Indiana football: 3 things to know about the UCLA Bruins

No. 2 Indiana football is set to welcome the turnaround story of the 2025 college football season when the Hoosiers take on the UCLA Bruins on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana. They’re not quite the 2024 Hoosiers in terms of turnaround. UCLA’s move came midseason when the athletic department moved on from now-former […]

Dennis Gates and Missouri hope to find consistency

In basketball the term rebound is defined by possession after a missed shot. But beyond basketball it’s typically defined as a recovery following a setback. The first item is something Mizzou struggled with for the first two seasons during Dennis Gates’ tenure. The latter defined the third. There were a lot of prognosticators who doubted […]

The NBA Has A Mess On Its Hands

If you haven’t heard by now, this morning the FBI announced arrests on gambling charges. Among the accused: NBA coach Chauncey Billups and former players Terry Rozier and Damon Jones. There appear to be two different situations. In the first, four Mafia crime families – the Bonnano, Genovese, Gambino and Lucchese – ran allegedly fixed […]

The NBA world got quite the shock early Tuesday morning when Heat guard Terry Rozier and Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups were arrested for separate gambling-related crimes. The two were among over 30 people arrested by the FBI on Tuesday. Rozier was arrested for the alleged offenses for which he had previously been under federal investigation, while Billups […]

Matchroom outbids Top Rank for Raymond Muratalla vs Andy Cruz

The stop-and-start saga of Raymond Muratalla’s mandatory IBF lightweight title defense against Andy Cruz may finally be reaching a conclusion, as Matchroom Boxing successfully defeated Top Rank at today’s purse bid. Per Jake Donovan, Matchroom’s $888,888 bid soundly trounced Top Rank’s $550,000, a rare victory for Eddie Hearn in this arena. This still leaves them […]

NC State needs the chaotic version of Pitt to show up this week

Pat Narduzzi and Dave Doeren have been coaching in the ACC concurrently since 2015, but this week marks only the third time they’ve gone up against each other—all three times in Pittsburgh, incidentally. Dave’s going to need to push his record against Narduzzi to 3-0 to breathe some life back into NC State’s season. The […]

The Daily Bee: Serhou Guirassy Could Miss Time Due to Ongoing Thigh Injury

Good evening, folks. Today’s Daily Bee is a little late because I spent all day preparing to teach an Introduction to Linear Regression session. The session went great. I got to spend an hour lecturing the audience about the many virtues of the linear model and indoctrinating them in the gospels of the Church of […]

Today In NHL History - Gretzky's Wife Knocked Out

On October 22nd in 1997, Wayne Gretzky's wife Janet Jones was bloodied and knocked unconscious when a heavy hit by New York Rangers defenseman Ulf Samuelsson on Chicago Blackhawks forward Sergei Krivokrasov dislodged a large pane of plexi-glass striking the 36 year old actress.
