The Montreal Canadiens that we’ve come to know and love this season did not show up on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre. With the Los Angeles Kings in town, they bumbled their way to a 5-1 loss, sending a number of fans off to beat the traffic with a fair amount of time left in the third period.
From the net out, this was easily the worst game they’ve played this year, and one they need to get past quickly.

Cooper Flagg has had an interesting few days. First, he had a breakout game at Milwaukee on Monday. Then, Tuesday morning, the Dallas Mavericks fired GM Nico Harrison. After that, Flagg’s mother, Kelly, posted some comments after the firing that were misconstrued (she clarified what she meant). And he also has his first NBA injury. […]
Dabo Swinney has fired two coordinators in recent years, and he has spent a lot of money on replacements. Garrett Riley has made positive strides in his third year leading the offense, but the Clemson program probably didn’t expect Tom Allen to take long to get the defense back on track. Allen is coming off […]
Bayern Munich and French international centre half Dayot Upamecano is out of contract at the end of the season and while the German club continue to suggest they remain hopeful that a new deal is possible for the 27-year-old, there is a general belief that he is most likely to join Real Madrid on a […]
Are the Red Sox prepared to spend money this winter? Maybe yes, maybe no. I vote yes. How about you?
The Miami Dolphins took to the practice field in beautiful Madrid, Spain today ahead of their international contest against the Washington Commanders slated for Sunday. The location of the practice wasn’t the only change, however, as starting right tackle Austin Jackson returned to action for the first time since suffering a toe injury in week […]
It’s never a good sign when players get hurt one after another at the same position. The Texans strength this season has been their secondary, where they have two of the top 10 leaders in interceptions. Kamari Lassiter leads all CBs in tackles… and that’s not because opposing QBs are throwing at him. They are […]
Robbie Fowler has expressed doubts over Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes after their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City Fowler has rarely sounded so downbeat when speaking about Liverpool. The former striker, usually one of the club’s most passionate and positive voices in the media, admits that even he is struggling to find encouragement in what […]

How about them Dolphins?! It isn’t often we get to celebrate a Miami victory over the often dominant Buffalo Bills, but after Sunday’s 30-13 shellacking of Josh Allen, James Cook and company, keep your party hats on, Dolfans, because you’ve got a few more days of jubilant activity to partake in. While we celebrate, Dolphins […]
Meet the Mets Tim Britton asked the question for the Mets this offseason: if not Pete Alonso at first, then who? David Stearns was speaking at the GM Meetings and he stated that Carson Benge is going to have a chance to make the major league roster out of Spring Training next year. Stearns made […]
There was one line from Elliotte Friedman’s most recent 32 Thoughts column that caught my attention this week. “I don’t have an answer for this, but there is a lot of concern about all of the injuries. Maybe next year is different when the season starts earlier and the schedule isn’t so compressed. But everyone […]
The votes are in, and our guy didn’t get the trophy. The Baseball Writers Association of America named Rob Thomson a finalist for National League Manager of the Year, but gave the award to Pat Murphy of the Brewers. Thomson led the Phillies to a 96-66 record and division title in a tough NL East. […]
Yesterday, the most reliable baseball reporter in the business dropped a broad but noteworthy article. In it, using his knowledge of the industry, Jeff Passan ran a compelling exercise seeking to align a major offseason transaction to 21 of MLB’s top clubs, with the major caveat being that he wouldn’t use the same player twice. […]
Wearing their Nor’Easter-themed Rivalry helmets, the New England Patriots encountered some fitting temperatures on Tuesday. It was cold in Foxborough. In fact, it was cold enough for head coach Mike Vrabel to offer moving practice to the team’s indoor facility. The Patriots’ players were not interested in that. The session remained outdoors, even with temperatures […]
Predicting the roster moves is always an interesting experiment each offseason.
On Tuesday night, Marquette women’s basketball ventured up to the Land of 10,000 Lakes for a non-conference game against Minnesota. For a variety of reasons — one of which is that I’ll be cold and dead in the ground before I give $13 to the Big Ten — I ended up not logging in to […]
“I guess we’re good again.” That was a sentence said in the Detroit Lions locker room after their 44-22 victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 10. The Lions’ offense felt alive and moved like a well-oiled machine, never punting the football all game. The defense stood tall and made some key stops, and suddenly, […]
After a promising rookie season, Justin Edwards came back and had a bad summer league. He had a bad preseason as well — so much so that he was essentially out of the rotation by the time the regular season started, despite two forwards in Paul George and Trendon Watford not being healthy for opening […]

The stove is sizzling and the temperature is rising. The offseason is officially here. The Dodgers now own the exclusive mantra as the two-time defending champions of baseball, and they won their most recent championship with a glaring issue that the Dodgers tried to mitigate in the postseason. The Dodgers’ 2025 bullpen was undoubtedly the […]
