Panthers nip Bruins 5-4 in shootout to end slump

The Florida Panthers kept its fading playoff hopes alive and eded four-game losing streak with a much-needed 5-4 shootout win over the Boston Bruins at Amerant Bank Arena. After Sam Bennett had a goal waved off, Eetu Luostarinen opened the scoring for real at 4:22 when he beat Joonas Korpisalo with a wrister from the right circle following a turnover by Morgan Geekie. The Bruins would forge ahead on back-to-back breakaway goals from Mikey Eyssimont. Alex Steeves tipped Hampus Li...

NHL Trade Rumors: Vancouver Canucks talking trade on 3 players

The Vancouver Canucks have gone through a whirlwind 2025-26 season, and there's still 25 games left. From Quinn Hughes being moved, to dating back to the offseason and Jim Rutherford explaining how the inevitable was coming, to now trade talks escalating as the rebuild is in full send mode. With the Olympic break ongoing for a couple of weeks, the Canucks can still discuss the parameters of deals with multiple teams, and word is, they've been very active this week trying to fully tear down the...

Thursday BP: Which season changed the way you watch baseball?

Good morning, baseball fans! As we approach Spring Training and the beginning of the season, we’re going to be doing some questions for y’all about your thoughts about the San Francisco Giants and baseball in general! Today’s question is kind of an odd one, but interesting to examine, at least for me. Which season changed […]

Tiger Topics: Who is your all-time favorite Tiger?

The Detroit Tigers family lost a legend on Wednesday with the death of 1968 World Series hero Mickey Lolich, who passed away at the age of 85. The departure of the all-time great leaves the fanbase in remembrance of a brilliant career that saw the southpaw throw 3,638 1/3 MLB innings, striking out 2,832 hitters […]

Kansas City Royals news: The Tigers add a big free agent arm

Mike Petriello at MLB has a great article about how moving the fences at the K may help the Royals. Consider this: That’s approximately four homers more per season for Perez over the past half-decade. He’s played the equivalent of 12 full seasons, counting partial years across his 14-year career. Were you to apply four […]

Jimmy Crooks is your *#8 St. Louis Cardinals prospect

If you’re reading this in the future without context, probably unneeded in the present, here is some. In the time between when the vote for Jimmy Crooks went out and this current post, Brendan Donovan was traded for multiple prospects, one of whom may have been included on the top 20 list already if this […]

Brewers career milestones to keep an eye on in 2026

When Freddy Peralta was traded from the Brewers, we lost not only a beloved franchise hero, but we also lost one interesting storyline from the season: had Peralta remained a Brewer and been healthy throughout the season, he would’ve passed Yovani Gallardo as the franchise’s all-time leader in strikeouts. As it stands, Peralta is instead […]

Houston Rockets vs. Charlotte Hornets game preview

Note: I’m writing this preview before the Houston Rockets take on the Boston Celtics. I’m also writing this well ahead of the NBA trade deadline, which is Thursday at 2pm CT. So if you’re wondering why I’m not talking about how the Rockets have traded for prime Hakeem Olajuwon or whatever, you have your answer. […]

The milestones Yankees will be chasing in 2026

Giancarlo Stanton sits 47 home runs away from 500 for his career, that nice round number that counts for quite a bit in Hall of Fame discussion. It does feel like that chase will come right down to the wire, with Stanton’s contract running through the 2027 season but with some kind of labor stoppage […]

2026 CSR Mock Draft 1.0

The 2026 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama has come to a close, with some players seeing a rise to their draft stocks after getting a chance to impress NFL coaches and scouts in person throughout the week. With those performances fresh in our minds, let’s take a guess at what round one will look like […]

Chicago Cubs news and notes — Bregman, Busch, Hoerner, PCA

Sources say Owen Miller has signed an MiLB agreement with the Cubs. He’s a lifetime backup with positional versatility and a .238/.287/.342 slash, with a lifetime -0.8 bWAR (0.7 fWAR) in MLB. Marquee Sports Network hasn’t offered any new content since the Convention. It makes me wonder. Like I wonder how people post articles on […]

Thursday Flakes: Nebraska WBB Loses, Softball Tomorrow and More

This week is a very dangerous time for me. I’ve had to wait with anticipation for the Super Bowl. Not because my favorite team is playing in it (thanks Sean Payton you fricking moron), but because I made a bet with a coworker, who happens to be a Patriots fan. The bet was simple, if […]

Morning Skate: Half

Welcome to the Olympic break, folks! The NHL is officially paused for around three weeks, with players either heading off to Milan or (probably) heading to some kind of tropical locale for a bit of a break. The Bruins entered the break with a 5-4 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers last night, their second […]

Film Session: How USC’s size and athleticism beat Indiana

In Indiana’s loss to USC on Tuesday night, the Trojans’ size, length, athleticism and physicality gave the Hoosiers some trouble, which has been an issue for Indiana at times this season — especially in losses. So let’s dive in and ... The post Film Session: How USC’s size and athleticism beat Indiana appeared first on Inside the Hall | Indiana Hoosiers Basketball News, Recruiting and Analysis .
