Knicks apparently have $76 million problem with Karl-Anthony Towns
Karl-Anthony Towns is eligible for a four-year, $276 million extension from the Knicks. The Knicks seem to have another number in mind. A much smaller one. New York is “far more interested” in an extension closer to four years and $200 million, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, as relayed by RealGM. That leaves […] The post Knicks apparently have $76 million problem with Karl-Anthony Towns appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Kings may have decided Ben Simmons doesn’t really need a position
What position does Ben Simmons play for the Kings? Well, all of them, it seems. Sacramento has spent the opening days of training camp experimenting with Simmons in different roles, with the 6-foot-10 former All-Star handling the ball on offense and defending bigger players at the other end, as Brenden Nunes of Sactown Sports writes. […] The post Kings may have decided Ben Simmons doesn’t really need a position appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Donovan Mitchell: Cavs need to ‘double down’ after playoff disappointment
The Cavaliers have changed some pieces. Donovan Mitchell doesn’t think they need to change who they are. Speaking Wednesday after Cleveland’s first training-camp practice in Spain, Mitchell said the Cavs need to “double down on the habits” that carried them to the Eastern Conference finals last season, according to Cleveland 19 Getting there was progress. James Harden says he’d ‘love’ to play in Spain someday
James Harden is in Spain with the Cavaliers. Apparently, he wouldn’t mind playing there, either. Harden told Spanish outlet Cadena SER after Cleveland’s first training-camp practice Wednesday that he would “love” to play in Spain someday, though the 37-year-old made clear his immediate priority remains trying to win an NBA championship with the Cavs. Harden […] The post James Harden says he’d ‘love’ to play in Spain someday appeared first on Hoops Wire .
NBA Trade Rumors: Ty Jerome, Darius Garland, Dejounte Murray, Daniel Gafford
Training camps have barely started, but it’s never too early for the NBA trade market to start taking shape. Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports put together an early look at players who could find their names circulating between now and the February trade deadline. Nothing here should be confused with an imminent deal, but several […] The post NBA Trade Rumors: Ty Jerome, Darius Garland, Dejounte Murray, Daniel Gafford appeared first on Hoops Wire .
NBA executive: Don’t assume Celtics looking to dump Paul George
The assumption around the NBA has been fairly easy to understand. The Celtics acquired Paul George in the Jaylen Brown trade, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they intend to keep him around. Maybe we shouldn’t be so sure. An NBA executive told Sean Deveney of Heavy Sports that George still has considerably more value around […] The post NBA executive: Don’t assume Celtics looking to dump Paul George appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Three trade proposals for Pistons’ Jalen Duren
Jalen Duren hasn’t signed a contract with the Pistons yet, so naturally we’re going to discuss trading him. Hey, nobody ever accused the NBA of being normal. First, the important part: None of the trades below are being reported as offers. These are Hoops Wire proposals built around teams that actually have been connected to […] The post Three trade proposals for Pistons’ Jalen Duren appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Jalen Duren could make NBA history if he takes Pistons qualifying offer
At this point, there isn’t much left to say about Jalen Duren‘s contract standoff with the Pistons. Unless, of course, he decides to do something no player in his position has ever done. Duren would become the first reigning All-Star or All-NBA player to accept a qualifying offer if he chooses Detroit’s one-year, $9.6 million […] The post Jalen Duren could make NBA history if he takes Pistons qualifying offer appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Sean Sweeney has one non-negotiable for Magic offense: Space the floor
Sean Sweeney has spent plenty of time discussing what the Magic’s new offense should look like. One part apparently isn’t open for discussion. That would be none other than spacing. Orlando’s new coach is emphasizing a five-out system during training camp, and he considers maintaining that spacing an obligation players have to one another, according […] The post Sean Sweeney has one non-negotiable for Magic offense: Space the floor appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Chris Webber is back around Kings, helping at training camp
One of the greatest players in Kings history is back in the building. For coach Doug Christie, seeing his former teammate around again carried some […] The post Chris Webber is back around Kings, helping at training camp appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Micah Nori’s first Blazers practice went fine. Then he forgot to end it.
Micah Nori waited a long time to run his first NBA practice as a head coach. Apparently nobody told him he also had to end it. The Blazers wrapped up a nearly three-hour opening practice Tuesday, only for players and assistants to stand around waiting for the customary closing huddle. Eventually, someone reminded Nori that […] The post Micah Nori’s first Blazers practice went fine. Then he forgot to end it. appeared first on Hoops Wire .

Coach Nick Nurse described the issue as a “hip thing,” though […] The post Tacko Fall suffers hip injury while fighting for Sixers two-way spot appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Dalton Knecht, Jaden Hardy could be odd men out in Lakers roster crunch
The Lakers have 16 players with guaranteed contracts. The NBA allows them to keep 15. You can probably see where this is headed. Wizards showed interest in Anthony Davis-Jalen Duren swap, but Pistons didn’t
The Wizards apparently have an idea for resolving the Jalen Duren mess. The Pistons don’t seem particularly interested. League sources confirmed the Wizards’ interest, but the Pistons […] The post Wizards showed interest in Anthony Davis-Jalen Duren swap, but Pistons didn’t appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Jalen Duren has $200 million decision to make by Thursday
Jalen Duren has until Thursday to make a decision on his future with the Pistons. Suffice it to say, there’s a little money involved. Duren can accept Detroit’s reported five-year, $200 million offer or sign his one-year qualifying offer for about $9.6 million, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. As Luke […] The post Jalen Duren has $200 million decision to make by Thursday appeared first on Hoops Wire .

Cam Whitmore didn’t take long to get Nuggets’ attention
Cam Whitmore apparently didn’t need much time to introduce himself to the Nuggets. Denver’s new forward was among the players turning heads during the opening portion of training camp, according to Ryan Blackburn of Mile High Sports. That’s encouraging for both sides. Whitmore arrived in Denver still trying to turn obvious physical ability into a […] The post Cam Whitmore didn’t take long to get Nuggets’ attention appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Jazz started training camp talking trash. Will Hardy loved it
The Jazz spent the first day of training camp talking trash to each other. Will Hardy couldn’t have been happier. Hardy […] The post Jazz started training camp talking trash. Will Hardy loved it appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Wizards say it’s finally time to ‘change the narrative’
The Wizards know what everyone thinks about them. They’ve provided plenty of evidence. Washington has won just 50 games over the past three seasons, finishing with no more than 18 victories in any of them. This year’s group believes that needs to end. “It’s time to change the narrative,” guard Bub Carrington said as training […] The post Wizards say it’s finally time to ‘change the narrative’ appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Grizzlies know Zach Edey wants to push it. They won’t let him

That’s apparently easier said than done. Coach Tuomas Iisalo […] The post Grizzlies know Zach Edey wants to push it. They won’t let him appeared first on Hoops Wire .

It doesn’t […] The post Luka Doncic, Walker Kessler apparently figured each other out pretty quickly appeared first on Hoops Wire .
