LeBron James is 41 years old, joining a new team and entering his 24th NBA season. Naturally, the Sixers are considering putting even more responsibility in his hands. Philadelphia has discussed using James as a point forward, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN. That doesn’t necessarily mean LeBron will bring the ball up every possession. Mike D’Antoni has message for anyone who thinks James Harden is ‘done’
James Harden isn’t the James Harden who won an MVP and routinely made 40-point nights look almost normal. Mike D’Antoni knows that. He also thinks people have taken that observation way too far. D’Antoni, who coached Harden during four seasons in Houston, pushed back hard on the idea that the Cavaliers guard is nearing the […] The post Mike D’Antoni has message for anyone who thinks James Harden is ‘done’ appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Bub Carrington basically admits Wizards tanked. NBA reportedly won’t punish them
Bub Carrington didn’t use the word “tanking.” He didn’t really need to. The Wizards guard acknowledged that Washington’s players were “held back” last season while the organization positioned itself to land the No. 1 overall pick and AJ Dybantsa. “We’ve all, in a way, been held back just because, like you said, we were trying […] The post Bub Carrington basically admits Wizards tanked. Blazers may start Damian Lillard, Ja Morant even if it ‘doesn’t make sense’
Micah Nori knows starting Damian Lillard and Ja Morant together might not make perfect basketball sense. He’s probably going to do it anyway. The Blazers coach acknowledged that the pairing presents some obvious questions, but told The Athletic that he’s leaning toward opening games with both star guards. “It’s not set in stone, but probably, […] The post Blazers may start Damian Lillard, Ja Morant even if it ‘doesn’t make sense’ appeared first on Hoops Wire .

Domantas Sabonis on Kings trade rumors: ‘It’s all made up’
Kings center Domantas Sabonis heard all the trade rumors. It’s safe to say he didn’t spend much time believing them. Sabonis was mentioned regularly in speculation after a difficult season in which a knee injury limited him to 19 games. Blazers face backlash after firing broadcaster over teenage social media posts
The Trail Blazers’ decision to fire newly hired television play-by-play broadcaster Braiden Bell isn’t exactly receiving universal applause. In fact, quite the opposite. Bell had been announced as the team’s new television […] The post Blazers face backlash after firing broadcaster over teenage social media posts appeared first on Hoops...
Walker Kessler thinks new-look Lakers could be ‘nasty’ defensively
The Lakers changed plenty this offseason. Walker Kessler already has an idea of what their new identity might be. Nasty. Defensively, anyway. He […] The post Pistons’ JB Bickerstaff: Jalen Duren will be welcomed back with ‘open arms’ appeared first on Hoops Wire .
Kenny Atkinson enters season with Cavs’ trust, and plenty of pressure
Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson was NBA Coach of the Year two seasons ago. Last year, plenty of people around the league seemed to question him. That doesn’t make those people right. Warriors want Frank Vogel’s defense to ‘punch first’
The Warriors want to play better defense this season. Actually, they want to start punching people.
