Jackson is Confident Entering 2026

He's the seventh-fastest player in Kansas State history to reach 1,000 career rushing yards and his 5.37 yards per attempt ranks seventh as well. At a time when junior running back Joe Jackson is eager to flourish even more for the Wildcats, new head coach Collin Klein and his dangerous offensive attack that features a strong running game seems to have arrived just in time.

‘The Sky’s the Limit’

The attention is everywhere as Avery Johnson in his bright suit and lavender tie journeys underneath the lights from radio station to podcast to radio station to podcast, station to station, slapping on headphones and moments peeling them off his head, at Big 12 Football Media Days at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.

First Time on the Big Stage

It's 7:18 a.m. and a large steel overhang blocks the sunlight from a 78-degree Wednesday morning, as a black, 10-passenger van steers toward the elaborate front glass doors to the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star. Less than one football field away, inside the multi-purpose, 12,000-seat Ford Center, which is connected to the World Corporate Headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys, the school colors and banners of Big 12 Conference schools sway to either the side of "the big stage," elevated on a large ...

‘We Won Today’

Eric Wolford is the longest-tenured active offensive line coach in the Southeastern Conference. The son of a steel mill plant supervisor in Youngstown, Ohio, Wolford grew up strong, tough and gritty. He played offensive guard at Kansas State under Bill Snyder. Along his professional journey, Wolford served as head coach at Youngstown State, and he coached offensive lines at South Florida, Houston, North Texas, Arizona, Illinois, South Carolina, San Francisco 49ers, Kentucky, Alabama and now LS...

Eager to Make an Impact

For four weeks, it's been a constant grind, a simple schedule, an ease-in approach with an hour of weights and a 50-minute practice at Ice Family Basketball Center. The Kansas State men's basketball team, compiled of players from across the country but shooting for the same goal, eats breakfast together, competes hard on the court and gels off the court, consumed in a world of their own — a world that at the end of the day typically includes video games and a couch.

Fields Qualifies for US Women’s Amateur

Kansas State rising sophomore Stalee Fields is moving on to one of the most prestigious amateur events by winning a playoff for the second of two spots in the US Amateur Qualifier on Wednesday held at the par-72, 6,315-yard Firekeeper Golf Course.

An Instant Sense of Familiarity

After four weeks of the grind, there' a break in this summer phase of preparation for the Kansas State men's basketball program. Players will enjoy this week and the Fourth of July and return to the Ice Family Basketball Center on July 5. That's when 23-year-old Isaiah Walker, who's in his first season as the Director of Player Development, will rejoin the rest of the K-State coaching staff and get his hands again on this new group of players, so eager, and so together, and so engaged in the 5...

‘This is Home’

He grabbed the microphone with his left hand and pointed to the sky with his right, this whirling, lavender polo-wearing, country traveling, sideline pumping, official-recruiting-visit speaking, 41-year-old son of Wichita, Kansas, who was born 6.1 miles east at Wesley Medical Center, and who today stands before hundreds of purple-clad Kansas State supporters at Chicken N Pickle, needing no introduction at the Wichita Catbackers gathering — just a microphone.

Patterson Grateful for Life’s Journey

On the corner of Lillian Avenue and Beacon Drive sits a yellow, two-story house in north St. Louis, Missouri. The area has seen a history of severe gun violence, including several high-profile homicides, and a 16-year-old was murdered last July while riding his bike nearby. Freddie and Rosie Patterson have resided in the house for more than 50 years, and they refuse the overtures of their youngest son, Cory Patterson, to relocate them to a safer location. Freddie is blind and Rosie had a strok...
