Eden, Johansen Named CSC Academic All-District

PULLMAN, Wash. (June 16, 2026) – Washington State women's rowing had both Sam Eden and Lis Ana Johansen named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team CSC Tuesday morning.

Rosemary Longisa Wins NCAA 1500m Championship

Washington State sophomore Rosemary Longisa won the 1,500-meter run outdoor national championship, Saturday evening, at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Longisa became the first Cougar woman in program history to win the event, crossing the finish line in 4:12.10.

Kurui Claims Second-Team All-America, Top-10 in 5K

WSU distance runner Evans Kurui concluded his sophomore season with a ninth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run final at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Friday evening, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. The performance earned Kurui NCAA Second-Team All-America honors, becoming the first Cougar 5-kilometer All-American since fellow Kenyan countryman Bernard Lagat won the title in 1999.

Jepkorir Earns All-America, Longisa Cruises to 1500m Finals

Washington State sophomore runners Rosemary Longisa and Caroline Jepkorir completed semifinal competition at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Thursday evening, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Longisa claimed the fastest time of the women's 1,500-meter semifinals and earned a spot in Saturday's final. Jepkorir concluded her season with NCAA All-America Honorable Mention in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Kurui Earns First-Team All-America, Sixth in 10K

EUGENE, Ore. –Washington State sophomore distance runner Evans Kurui finished sixth in the men's 10,000-meter run national championship at the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Wednesday evening, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Kurui's spot earned him NCAA Outdoor First-Team All-America recognition for the second-straight season in college track's longest event.

Alvarez Sande, Cougar Tennis Capture ITA Regional Awards

PULLMAN, Wash. (June 9, 2026) – Washington State senior Eva Alvarez Sande and the Cougar Tennis Team each captured Intercollegiate Tennis Association year-end awards, the organization announced Tuesday. Alvarez Sande was named the 2026 Northwest Region Senior Player of the Year, while Cougar Tennis also received the Community Service Award.

WSU Track Trio Travels to NCAA Outdoor Championships

Three Washington State track student-athletes qualified for the 2026 NCAA Division-I Outdoor Track & Field Championships, June 10-13, at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Rosemary Longisa will compete in the 1500-meter run national semifinals, and Caroline Jepkorir will compete in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Evans Kurui will represent the men and run in the national championship for the 10,000- and 5,000-meter events.

12 Rowers Earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award

PULLMAN, Wash. (June 5, 2025) – Washington State women's rowing had 12 earn the CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award for their academic and athletic excellence in 2026.

2026 Volleyball Pac-12 Schedule Announced

PULLMAN, Wash. (June 3, 2026) – Washington State women's volleyball and the Pac-12 have released their 2026 conference schedule which will feature 16 matches, eight home and eight on the road, twice facing each of the eight other member institutions.

Ben Borgida's Leadership in Building Community Earns Him Top 10 Senior Award

Ben Borgida was standing next to the CUB elevator when he got a call that he thought was spam. Despite not recognizing the number, Borgida picked up the phone and learned he was named one of Washington State University's 2026 Top 10 Seniors. Borgida, who was surprised by the call, said the honor gave him a "good moment of reflection" and he immediately called his parents to tell them.
