First-Year Nguyen Ties Digs Record In Sweep

First-year libero Kaitlyn Nguyen had a performance worthy of her own spot on Mt. Rushmore as she tied the three-set Husky digs record in a UW sweep of South Dakota. Nguyen had 26 digs, matching a mark set back in 2008 by All-American Tama Miyashiro, and the Husky volleyball team finished an undefeated non-conference schedule with a 25-19, 26-24, 25-17 win.

Cross Country Impresses In Opener

Both Husky cross country squads had impressive season debuts today on the course where they hope to be racing again in two months' time. The Husky men's team upset a whopping 12 ranked squads to finish third and the 22nd-ranked women's team finished sixth with an almost entirely new team at the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State.

Huskies Start Fast, Sweep Past Jackrabbits

The Huskies came storming out of the gate in their first trip to the Sanford Pentagon, winning the first 11 points in a row against Summit League Champion South Dakota State and never trailing in a 25-11, 25-21, 25-16 sweep. UW hit a season-best .386.
