It’s the first time in ACC history that two 11-0 teams have squared off against one another. Let’s make it 15 in a row. Go Cards.
Seedy K’s GameCap: Notre Dame
Thinking long term, which seems apropos since it’s that February turn for the home stretch of the season, there’s a singular vision that haunts. And, no, it’s not Kasean Pryor firing a triple, thereby pushing good fortune during far and away his signature performance of the year. As scary as that open FG attempt from […]
Louisville grinds out 76-65 win over Notre Dame
They aren’t going to hang the game in a museum, but Louisville got the job done Wednesday night with a 76-65 triumph over visiting Notre Dame. Five players scored in double figures for a Cardinal team that found a way to win despite shooting just 7-for-31 (23%) from beyond the arc. Isaac McKneely’s 13 points […]
Open Thread: Louisville vs. Notre Dame

Extended thoughts: Louisville 88, SMU 74
Louisville has 10 regular season games remaining, as it currently stands, six of those games will be Quadrant I opportunities. Even so, none of the 10 teams the Cards will play between now and March 7 appear to be realistic national title contenders (we can check back in on North Carolina in a couple of […]

Louisville Defeats Cal 71-59
The first half was not a thing of beauty for either team. Neither team seemed to be in a good rhythm. Louisville was going into the second half only shooting 14% from the 3-point line (1-7) and held a slim 4 point lead. In the second half the Cards seem to lock in a little […]
Seedy K’s GameCap: SMU
It was disturbing and obvious at the start, that the Louisville Cardinals had not dusted themselves off from the butt kicking last time out in Durham. At the first media timeout, the Cards trailed 4-14 to the stampeding Mustangs. Four different visitors had already netted a wide open three. Defense was lax. Coming off the […]

Louisville played perhaps its best half of the season to come from behind and take down SMU, 88-74, Saturday afternoon inside the KFC Yum Center. After trailing 47-44 at halftime, the Cards limited their guests to 11-of-30 shooting and just 27 points over the game’s second 20 minutes. Mikel Brown Jr., who did not start […]

Louisville Defeats Stanford 84-66
Louisville played a balanced game against Stanford and never trailed and racked up another 20-win season. They finished with five players in double figures with Mackenly Randolph and Laura Ziegler having career highs. However, Coach Jeff Walz was not impressed with his team’s outing. Hoopaholic’s Gazette: Thinking Past the Bedevilment
Today’s new word learned while reading too much stuff during breakfast: Anvilicious. Which I am using to describe “having an experience so harsh so vile that it’s like being hit with extreme prejudice over the head with an anvil.” Like watching the Cardinals getting drawn and quartered at Cameron Indoor as if Mel Gibson in […]
Duke demolishes Louisville by 31
Well, at least Louisville doesn’t have to worry about how they blew a sizable halftime lead after this one. Duke led by 10 at the break and did what they have done consistently to the Cardinals in the second half, rolling to an 83-52 rout that marked the largest margin of defeat of the Pat […]
Seedy K’s GameCap: Duke
With 4:30 left in the opening half, Louisville had overcome. Overcome a weekend of travel uncertainty because of weather. Overcome having to fly to Tobacco Road on game day. Overcome a torrid start by the Blue Devils in Cameron Indoor. Overcome a scoring drought of seven minutes or so, when the Cards missed nine field […]
