Why We Beat Virginia
With a 38-27 win over the University of Virginia in Charlotte, WVU football did what it had to do in order to begin the “climb” back to relevancy in the college football world. It’s just a first step, but it was a big one. Let’s go over the key reasons and clutch moments that lead […]

It’s the Duke’s Mayo Classic in Charlotte. You’ll find some good company in here to watch the game with.
What to Look For Against Virginia
For the first time since 2018 the West Virginia Mountaineers are 2-0 and are looking to be 3-0 which they also haven’t done since the 2018 season. To do so they need to beat the 25th ranked Virginia Cavaliers this Saturday night in the Duke’s Mayo Classic in Charolette, North Carolina! It took a few […]
How to Watch West Virginia vs. Virginia
We’re 2-0. Say that out loud a couple times, because it still feels good. But after taking care of business against Coastal Carolina and steamrolling UT Martin 52-7, the schedule stops being gentle with us. This week we pack up and head to Charlotte for the Duke’s Mayo Classic against Virginia, and I’m not going […]
4 Unexpected Standouts Fueling WVU Football’s 2-0 Start
Photos by Tyler Thomas For the first time since 2018, West Virginia football is 2-0. There are plenty of names getting attention for the Mountaineers’ strong start, and rightfully so, but through the first two games, some of the players who have caught my attention the most aren’t necessarily the ones I expected to be […]
Every Couch Fire Starts with a Spark
On a cold night in November 2002, the West Virginia Mountaineers rolled into Blacksburg, Virginia, to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies on national television. Virginia Tech was right in the middle of its golden era of football under Frank Beamer. The Hokies had played for the national championship just three years earlier and entered […]

Grading the Mountaineers: WVU 52, UT Martin 7
Alright fam, let’s talk about it. 52-7. That’s not a football score, that’s a statement. West Virginia went into Milan Puskar Stadium and made sure UT Martin knew exactly what kind of afternoon it was going to be from the jump. And look, I know it’s an FCS opponent, I know the argument that’s coming […]

What We Need to See Against UT Martin
The West Virginia Mountaineers opened up the season 1-0 after a 31-24 victory of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. After a LONG offseason and even more roster turnover, we got to see a Mountaineer win. A win is a win right? Yes it was a tale of two halves, and yes the fact the Mounatineers only […]
Musket Meter Week 2 Results
The Musket Meter week 2 results are in and it’s clear that the 2nd half of the CCU overshowed a nearly flawless first half. If you’re not familiar with the Musket Meter process: I ask WVU fans on Twitter/X the day after a game to gauge their excitement level from 0-100 and the number you […]
Okay, WVU Women’s Soccer Really Is This Good.
Photos by Emma Lentz Well, I guess we can keep overreacting. Last week, I asked if WVU women’s soccer was really THIS good. The Mountaineers responded by beating Marshall 1-0, moving to 5-0 and giving me absolutely no reason to stop getting excited about this team. So, thanks for making my job easy. WVU is […]
Let’s Grade That Win Over Coastal Carolina by Position Group
Hope everybody enjoyed the holiday the right way. Grill going, family around, maybe a cold drink in your hand, and a win in the books to talk about while you do it. That’s the good life. Before we get too deep into the cookout, let’s talk about what we saw Saturday, because there’s a lot […]

Wait… Is WVU Women’s Soccer Really This Good?
Photos by Emma Lentz I don’t want to overreact four games into the season. Actually, never mind. This is West Virginia sports. Getting excited early is basically part of the deal. WVU women’s soccer is 4-0, ranked No. 7 in the country and has given Mountaineer fans plenty to be excited about already. The Mountaineers […]
Official WVU Football Depth Chart for Coastal Carolina
There is a lot of ORs in here, but it’s better than nothing. The biggest takeaway for me is that there will be several Freshman that will have a big impact on this team. Kevin Brown stands alone at the Left Tackle spot. Amari Latimer is 2nd in the Running Back room. Cam Torbor (Redshirt […]
