Ryan Conwell brings shooting, confidence and a familiar work ethic to the Heat
Ryan Conwell has a pretty clear understanding of what the Miami Heat want from him. Space the floor. Compete defensively. Take care of the basketball. And bring the same energy that helped him make an impression during Summer League. For a rookie getting accustomed to playing alongside established NBA veterans, that gives Conwell a starting […] The post Ryan Conwell brings shooting, confidence and a familiar work ethic to the Heat appeared first on Hot Hot Hoops - Miami HEAT NBA Blog .
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo plan to make each other better — starting in practice
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo have spent years trying to make life difficult for each other on the court. Now that they’re teammates on the Miami Heat, neither seems particularly interested in letting the other off the hook. Their matchups will move to the practice floor, where both believe that same competition can bring out […] The post Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo plan to make each other better — starting in practice appeared first on Hot Hot Hoops - Miami HEAT NBA Blog .
Klay Thompson on joining Heat: “I want to be tested. I want to be pushed.”
Klay Thompson opened up about playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, reuniting with Andrew Wiggins and why he believes Miami is the right fit. Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals which Heat players caught his eye this summer
While he’s been with the Miami Heat for a few months, one could imagine Giannis Antetokounmpo is still getting used to his new teammates. Of course, he’s had plenty of battles with the Heat from his time with the Milwaukee Bucks. And there is only one player — Bobby Portis, who was traded with him […] The post Giannis Antetokounmpo reveals which Heat players caught his eye this summer appeared first on Hot Hot Hoops - Miami HEAT NBA Blog .
Heat’s Giannis Antetokounmpo: ‘I don’t care about being best, I care about being a winner.’
There’s nothing quite like being at the top of the pyramid. After the 2020-21 season, you could argue that Giannis Antetokounmpo, fresh off his first and only championship with the Milwaukee Bucks, was there. At the time, he was one season removed from winning back-to-back MVPs, becoming the 12th player ever to win it in […] The post Heat’s Giannis Antetokounmpo: ‘I don’t care about being best, I care about being a winner.’ appeared first on Hot Hot Hoops - Miami HEAT NBA Blog .

Why Pelle Larsson’s extension is a crucial piece of business for Miami Heat’s off-season
In what’s been a bombastic off-season for the Miami Heat, with a massive move for Giannis Antetokounmpo pulling all the headlines, it might seem like a contract extension for a rotation piece like Pelle Larsson is a footnote compared to the big stories this year. Larsson might not move the needle on the best prediction […] The post Why Pelle Larsson’s extension is a crucial piece of business for Miami Heat’s off-season appeared first on Hot Hot Hoops - Miami HEAT NBA Blog .
It’s bold to say the Miami Heat will be a good defense, apparently

Heat should lean into All-Star captain for “closing” role, clutch playmaking
After successfully filling in the pieces around Giannis Antetokounmpo this offseason, the Miami Heat have very few flaws, on paper. A defense anchored by Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo— along with Davion Mitchell, Andrew Wiggins and Pelle Larsson in the rotation— will be a clearcut top-three defense. Pat Riley and the front office addressed the need […] The post Heat should lean into All-Star captain for “closing” role, clutch playmaking appeared first on Hot Hot Hoops - Miami HEAT NBA Blog .
