Islanders at Sharks game 61: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The San Jose Sharks welcome Matthew Schaefer and the New York Islanders into SAP Center for the second night of back-to-back games tonight. This is going to be a tough go-around for the Sharks, as the Islanders had a chance to rest up for the game. New York was in San Jose, watching the Sharks play against the St. Louis Blues last night. New York is doing well this season and is, surprisingly, in a playoff spot as of this evening. The Islanders sit in third in the Metropolitan Division, w...

Quick Bites: Sharks Fight Back, Fall Short in OT

In the closing stretch of the season, the margin for error can shrink quickly. On Friday night, the San Jose Sharks were reminded how costly those details can be. Despite tying the game up twice and forcing overtime, the Sharks fell 3–2 to the St. Louis Blues at the SAP Center, looking for a single point in a game where execution proved itself decisive. San Jose never led, but managed to answer both St. Louis goals before overtime. Still, puck management issues and defensive lapses c...

Today In NHL History - Weber Shoots Through Net

On February 23rd in 2010, Nashville Predators blueliner Shea Weber suited up for Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics and blasted a slapshot past San Jose Sharks German goaltender Thomas Greiss that tore through the net. When questioned whether Weber had ever witnessed a puck go through the net, the deadpanned defenseman remarked, "Yeah, I do it every day". Canada beat Germany that night by a score

In addition to t rading away 17-year veteran John Carlson , he added Timothy Liljegren in a trade with the San Jose Sharks .  Patrick didn't spend much to acquire him with a 2026 4th-round pick, not much to release him from the clutches of general manager Mike Grier and the Sharks, who are another Pacific Division team in a rebuilding stage.  Off to Washington! 🦅 Timo...

Blues at Sharks game 60: Lines, game thread and how to watch

The trade deadline has come and gone, and both the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks made some moves at the deadline. The Blues did more selling than the Sharks at the deadline. It makes sense, the Blues are well out of the playoffs and need to restock the cupboards for a retool at the very least. Today, the Blues traded defenseman Justin Faulk to the Detroit Red Wings for Justin Holl and Dmitri Buchelnikov and a pair of picks. St. Louis also traded captain Brayden Schenn to the New Yor...

Sharks Trade Liljegren to Washington Capitals

The San Jose Sharks have traded defenseman Timothy Liljegren to the Washington Capitals. As of this moment, we’re still waiting to see what the return is on this trade. Remember that San Jose gave up Matt Benning, a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick to the Toronto Maple Leafs to acquire Liljegren.  The 26-year-old Liljegren never seemed to find a place in the Shar...
