This Week in College Hockey: Feb. 19, 2026

It’s always worth pausing to appreciate the long arcs of player development, especially when the payoff arrives.Brandon Bussi left Western Michigan four years ago and signed with the Boston Bruins. After a handful of call-ups — none of them resulting in game action — he signed with the Florida Panthers on July 1, only to be claimed off waivers by the Carolina Hurricanes in October when he didn...

Blues Trade Rumors: Atlantic Team 'Actively Targeting' Justin Faulk

The St. Louis Blues continue to ask a high price for their multiple trade candidates, but that hasn't stopped teams from snooping around. According to James Murphy in rg.org, the Boston Bruins are 'actively targeting' defenseman Justin Faulk. Boston has remained aggressive in its search for a right-shot top-four defenseman after missing out on Rasmus Andersson, with GM Don Sweeney reportedly holding ongoing discussions with St. Louis about Faulk for the past month. “They have been talking for ...

Monday Morning Fly By: Medals, here we come

*The Phantoms were back in action this weekend after a brief All Star break, and their first game against Cleveland on Saturday saw them looking a bit rusty, that’s for sure. [ BSH ] *They needed a big response effort on Sunday in their afternoon follow-up against a tough Syracuse team, and while they were able to keep the score closer, it was still a tough loss that they came away with. [ BSH ] *Our pal Maddie (hey, that’s me!) checked in with the guys over at PHLY this week to talk...

The performance broke the previous single game point record of eight originally set by Maurice Richard in 1944.

Morning Skate: Preliminary

Welcome to Wednesday, folks! The Bruins continue their NHL hibernation with the Winter Olympics well underway over in Italy, so there hasn’t been a ton to talk about around these parts. That will likely change today, as the men’s hockey tournament gets underway. There will be two games on Feb. 11 and three games on […]

The long and surprisingly weird history of players scoring 8 points in a game

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of Darryl Sittler’s legendary 10-point game. On February 7, 1976, Sittler scored six times and added four assists to power the Leafs to a win over the Bruins. With the feat coming on a nationally televised Hockey Night in Canada game, the record became a defining moment of 1970s hockey. The record still stands to this day. Sittler’s record was recognized by the Maple Leafs during a ceremony last week, in the last home game before the anniversary. We dug ...

The Florida Panthers (29-24-3) and Tampa Bay Lightning (36-14-4) will tussle for the final time this regular season at Benchmark International Arena in the last night of NHL action before the three-week break for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. Florida blew a two-goal third period lead, but still managed to end its four-game losing streak with a nail-biting 5-4 shootout win over the Boston Bruins last night. Flyers’ Travis Konecny remains consistent through difficult time

Between being left off of the Canadian Olympic team following his appearance at the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament last year and playing for a team that seems destined to miss the playoffs once again, Philadelphia Flyers winger Travis Konecny hasn’t had much go his way this year.  Following the Flyers’ 6-3 loss to the Bruins last week that stretched their losing streak to three, Konecny voiced his frustration at the fact that his squad seemed to be fading out of the playoff picture once ag...

Panthers nip Bruins 5-4 in shootout to end slump

The Florida Panthers kept its fading playoff hopes alive and eded four-game losing streak with a much-needed 5-4 shootout win over the Boston Bruins at Amerant Bank Arena. After Sam Bennett had a goal waved off, Eetu Luostarinen opened the scoring for real at 4:22 when he beat Joonas Korpisalo with a wrister from the right circle following a turnover by Morgan Geekie. Morning Skate: Half

Welcome to the Olympic break, folks! Public Skate: Bruins vs. Panthers

Welcome to another Atlantic Division showdown, folks! The Bruins will wrap up their pre-Olympic schedule by facing the Panthers in Florida. Gameday 56: Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins

The Florida Panthers (28-24-3) limp into tonight’s tilt looking to end a frustrating four-game losing streak when they face the Boston Bruins (32-20-4) at Amerant Bank Arena in their penultimate game before the long break for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Yes, there are 26 games left after this one, but this feels like a must-win for the Cats. Florida saw an early two-goal lead evaporate in Monday night’s 5-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres as they failed to get a win in Sunrise for the fourth con...
