On Monday afternoon the Blackhawks assigned defenseman Sam Rinzel and forward Landon Slaggert to the Rockford IceHogs.
The Blackhawks did not call anyone up.
The move leaves the Blackhawks with six defensemen on their NHL roster, which means they’ll go back to skating 12 forwards. Which, with Slaggert going to Rockford, also means Sam Lafferty will draw into the lineup until Nick Foligno returns from injury.
