The Spurs have been active this past week on Instagram. Between Jaylen Brown’s ejection, losing to the Nuggets, the team photo shoot, and then knotting up the series with the Charlotte Hornets, the Silver & Black have also been posting a lot from their player interview series. This installment asks the guys what day they […]
#1 – Aiming for weaknesses Entering the game, the Washington Wizards were 26th at limiting shots at the rim and last at protecting the defensive rebound. So the Celtics just went for the paint and made sure they put pressure on the Wizards’ defensive frontcourt. Overall, by the end, the Celtics created 19 more possessions […]
Here’s where the Wizards are at this point: losing by 11 to the Boston Celtics feels almost like an achievement. Most of the relative narrowness of that margin was due to Boston bricking open and wide-open threes they normally make, some working out of kinks related to Jayson Tatum’s return to the lineup, and probably […]
Saturday night marked Jayson Tatum’s fourth game back since returning from a ruptured right Achilles tendon. His transition from five-on-five team scrimmages to rejoining the Boston Celtics’ starting lineup was swift, and coach Joe Mazzulla hopes that doesn’t get taken for granted. Coming back from a nearly 10-month recovery isn’t something that produces immediate results […]
The Boston Celtics won their 44th game of the season and the team’s 11th consecutive game against the Washington Wizards with a 111-100 showing on Saturday at TD Garden. After two tough losses to the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder over the past week, Boston could have been at risk of suffering […]
The Washington Wizards traveled to Boston to face the Celtics on Saturday in the final game of a three-game road trip. Behind a sluggish second quarter and poor interior defense, the Wizards fell, 111-100. Boston opened a 20-11 lead thanks to a flurry of Neemias Queta layups. But Tristan Vukcevic answered with a trio of […]
The Boston Celtics are signing Summer League standout center Charles Bassey to a 10-Day contract, per Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto. Bassey’s signing comes just over a week after Nikola Vucevic fractured his finger; Vucevic is expected to be reevaluated in 2 to 3 weeks, per the Celtics. Bassey, who is 6’10 and 25 years old, […]

We’re back, and so is Jayson Tatum! Welcome to the Celtics’ Top-5 Highest IQ Plays of the Week! Sure, we love the high-flying dunks and the deep, off-the-dribble step-back threes, but this is a place for the under-the-radar plays that might not get the credit they deserve. The plays that get the basketball sickos and […]
Nobody celebrates losses, let alone ones in the dog days of March. But if you’re looking for signs about where this Celtics team is headed, this road trip provided plenty of those. The Celtics beat Cleveland to kick off the road trip, but then fell to the top two teams in the West. They gave […]
These days, Gordon Hayward doesn’t watch a ton of NBA basketball. The former NBA All-Star prioritizes family, hanging out with his five children. In his free time, he golfs, a hobby he picked up after retiring from the NBA in 2024. But the former Celtic has paid enough attention this year to be thoroughly impressed […]
The NBA, whether they wish to admit it or not, has an officiating problem. The problem is deep, it’s structural, and the NBA is either oblivious to it, or worse, they consider it to be a feature instead of a bug. It’s a problem that Jaylen Brown has been highlighting for quite some time now, […]
Jaylen Brown and moving goal posts Jaylen Brown has spent a fair bit of time this season talking about the rules of the game, or more specifically, the enforcement of them. I think he’s got a point. But I also think that getting yourself tossed from a game because you lose your cool in a […]
Despite losing a nail-biter to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, the Boston Celtics delivered a valiant performance without Jayson Tatum, Derrick White, and Nikola Vucevic. Jaylen Brown led the way, filling the stat sheet with 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists, while the young wings, Hugo González, Baylor Scheierman, and Jordan Walsh, each contributed […]
There’s a moment in every championship season where you realize, “Oh, wow. They’re actually going to do it.” Up until that point, you convince yourself that everything that can go wrong will and nothing is solidified, even if your team is dominating. But once that clarity hits you, it yields an indescribable feeling of euphoria […]

The Boston Celtics lost a heartbreaker to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night, the Thunder taking a 2-point lead off of free-throws with just 0.8 seconds left in regulation. While the loss may sting, the game was incredibly encouraging for an under-manned Celtics team going against the top record in the league. Jayson Tatum […]
I would much rather the Celtics have won that game but it was a good game nonetheless. No White, Tatum or Vucevic and they led for much of the game and came very close to a win. All that without 3 of our top 7 players. I know OKC was missing 2 of theirs also but I think the players the Celtics were missing were more impactful. Also, last game of a road trip after crossing time zones makes a big difference. And, the 2nd game in a row where the officiating inf...
