The San Francisco Giants made a mild-mannered move over the All-Star break, quietly waiving right-handed reliever Eric Cerantola and outrighting him to AAA Sacramento. Cerantola, a fifth-round pick by the Kansas City Royals in 2021 who made his MLB debut earlier this year, had been claimed off of waivers earlier this month when Kansas City […]
At some point, the Royals need to finish building, or else their foundation will disappear.

On this very day 40 years ago, The Houston Astrodome would play host to the 57th annual All-Star Game. Royals Second Baseman Frank White would ultimately score the deciding run that night and he’s our featured guest at The Crawfish Boxes. Q: You were no stranger to All-Star Games, and your career spanned eras […]
When Carter Jensen woke up the morning of November 2, 2015, he likely arose from his bed with a smile on his face. The night before, the 12-year-old Jensen watched his hometown team, the Kansas City Royals, defeat the National League’s best New York Mets 7-1 to close out their second World Series title. That […]

The Kansas City Royals continued their season-long search for pitching depth, acquiring right-hander Easton McGee from the Milwaukee Brewers for cash considerations. McGee, who had been designated for assignment by Milwaukee last week, was optioned to Triple-A Omaha.
To open a 40-man roster spot, the Royals transferred reliever Nick Mears from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL.
A Bullpen In Crisis
The move shows Kansas City's desperate pitching situation.

I hope every MLB fan gets used to Bobby Witt Jr. in the All-Star Game. This is already Witt’s third All-Star Game, and Witt just turned 26 last month. The Kansas City Royals record for most All-Star selections is George Brett with 13; Salvador Perez is second with nine. After that, multiple Royals are tied […]

The Mets’ poor first half continued right into the All-Star break. They had a bad time north of the border, dropping two out of three to the Blue Jays before losing the first two games in Atlanta as well. They then rebounded a bit, scratching out a split with the Braves and beating the Royals—one […]
The Royals announced Tuesday that they’ve acquired right-hander Easton McGee from the Brewers in exchange for cash. McGee, who’d been designated for assignment last week, has been optioned to Triple-A Omaha with his new organization. The Royals opened a 40-man roster spot by transferring righty Nick Mears from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL. […]
When you hear the name Dan Quisenberry, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it his fabulous pitching record? Is it his unusual submarine delivery? Could it be his wicked sense of humor? Maybe it’s his red hair and ’70s police officer/porn star mustache? It might be all or a combination of […]
Jac Caglianone was bounced in the first round of the Home Run Derby last night, but not before he unleashed some truly magnificent homers. Caglianone belted eight home runs in the first round of the annual tournament. He got off to a slow start before settling in with some mammoth homers. In his session, Caglianone […]
It’s Dinger time (and not the Rockies mascot). Tonight includes a couple Phillies on the list: Kyle Schwarber, Phillies Jac Caglione, Royals Wilson Contreras, Red Sox Ben Rice, Yankees Junior Caminero, Rays Bryce Harper, Phillies Jordan Walker, Cardinals Munetaka Murakami, White Sox
Jac Caglianone reminded baseball fans of his immense power during the Royals’ recent series against the Baltimore Orioles, crushing his 15th home run of the season. The blast was another example of why Kansas City invested the sixth overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft in the young slugger. Performances like these have quickly turned Caglianone […]

Coming into the 2026 season, a lot of excitement surrounded the Royals and their starting pitching depth. That quickly evaporated in a little over a month after a slew of injuries. One of those depth pieces, a guy who didn’t make the Opening Day roster, despite a lot of hype around him was Luinder Avila. […]
The MLB Draft is in the books, the first half is officially over, and the Kansas City Royals made a selection at sixth overall that has generated strong opinions on both sides. Jacob Milham and Jeremy Greco do not hold back in this episode of the Royals Rundown Podcast, breaking down the Zion Rose pick, […]
Kansas City Royals reliever Lucas Erceg hit Baltimore Orioles third baseman Blaze Alexander on the hand in the seventh inning of the Royals 8-2 loss, leading to some tempers flaring and the benches clearing. Here’s what the Associated Press report of the incident had to say: Though both teams began the day in last place […]
Happy Monday, Camden Chatters! We made it to the All-Star break and the Orioles played well enough over the weekend to give us warm fuzzies heading into four days off. They swept the Kansas City Royals and finally won four games in a row. Now they get a few days off, except for Adley Rutschman, […]
While the big names in the MLB draft are all gone after the first day (or essentially committed to going to or back to college next year), there are future big leaguers every year in the second or third day of the draft. Recent Royals draft picks outside of the first 150 picks in the […]
BALTIMORE–What happened? The Orioles were on their way to their fourth straight win for the first time this season. Samuel Basallo had just homered to increase their lead to 8-2 when Kansas City Royals right-hander Lucas Erceg hit Orioles super utility player Blaze Alexander with a pitch that broke his left hand. Alexander took a […]
The Orioles finally did it. They finally won a fourth straight game in the 2026 season. It was long past ridiculous that they hadn’t, as the team had seven three-game winning streaks that they did not manage to turn into a four-or-more-game winning streak. The eighth time was the charm. They took out 96 games […]
The Royals went to the bottom of the 6th inning, tied 2-2, despite many missed opportunities. Matt Strahm proceeded to blow another game for the Royals, allowing 5 runs in a third of an inning. The Royals would lose the game 8-2 and be swept in Baltimore heading into the All-Star Break. The Royals got […]
