Film Study: Rutgers Scarlet Knights

In the midst of the Mariners playing an electric, marathon 15-inning Game 5 of the ALDS, the Washington Huskies took on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for another round of Friday Night Lights at Husky Stadium. Yet again, UW looked like they were in trouble in the first half before outscoring Rutgers 28-6 in the second […]

Postseason Game Discussion, #15

Back to the American League Championship Series we go, with the Mariners in full control, having won both games in Detroit. They could now clinch their first ever AL pennant and World Series spot, without having to leave Seattle again – they only need to win two of the next three games to do so. […]

ALCS 1: Mariners 3, Blue Jays 1ALCS 2: Mariners 10, Blue Jays 3NLCS 1: Dodgers 2, Brewers 1NLCS 2: Dodgers 5, Brewers 1

The Seattle Mariners have never won more than two games in an ALCS. They lost both the 1995 and 2000 ALCS in six games. If they win Game 3 tonight, it will be the farthest the 49-year-old franchise has ever gotten in the postseason. Also : No team has ever won an LCS (best-of-5 or best-of-7) after losing the first two games at home. We will see if the Blue Jays and/or Brewers can pull it off. While Shohei Ohtani (1-for-7) and Mookie Betts (0-for-7) have been quiet atop Los Angeles' lineup (the...

AL Championship Series Day 3 game thread

The Mariners will look to continue their hot streak in the ALCS after taking the first two games in Toronto when they host the Blue Jays in Seattle on Wednesday night. Considering the Mariners are trying to reach their first-ever World Series and have only won two ALCS games twice before in franchise history (in […]

ALCS Game 3 Thread

Critical game on tap tonight in Seattle. The Mariners can put their foot on the throat of the Blue Jays with a win tonight to go up 3-0. And with the nearly non-existent history of 0-3 comebacks in baseball history, it’s as good as do-or-die for Toronto tonight. For the road team they’ll hope righty […]

Houston Texans: Top 5 Trade Deadline Targets

Seahawks, 49ers, and Broncos, oh my! If the Texans have their eye on a surging towards a winning record, then they will have to steel themselves […]

Final take on the Detroit Tigers ALDS loss to Seattle

Alright, after letting emotions settle over the weekend it’s time for a quick unpacking of the Tigers loss to the Mariners in the ALDS. As you’d expect, there’s been a lot of over-cooked rage bait on sports talk radio and the media generally, but that’s only natural after a painful loss in an extra innings, […]

Elephant Rumblings: NLCS Game 2 set for tonight

Morning everyone! Rise and shine! Yesterday we were treated to a pair of LCS playoff games and boy was it interesting. The Athletics’ division rivals the Seattle Mariners came out swinging in Toronto, beating the Blue Jays 10-3 and giving themselves a huge 2-0 series lead. Even better for the M’s, they won both games […]

Detroit Tigers podcast recapping the ALDS loss to Seattle

As many of you know, we’re pretty tight with the excellent site, Tigers Minor League Report. Rogelio Castillo and Chris Brown, along with their staff, do a wonderful job of covering the Detroit Tigers farm system throughout the year. We team up for a weekely podcast on Monday night’s throughout the season, and will probably […]

One Of These Four Teams Will Win The 2025 World Series: Brewers, Blue Jays, Dodgers, Mariners

This is not a thoughtful and incisive overview of the ALCS and NLCS. I was looking up some things yesterday and figured I'd share them rather than not. First of all, I was extremely pleased to watch the Blue Jays hardly break a sweat while humiliating the Yankees. But then I thought . . . shit, the Blue Jays are now  really  close to going to the World Series. . . . which means they could actually  win  the World Series. . . . But then I thought, I no longer live outside To...

Friday BP: ALDS Game 5, baby

Good morning, baseball fans! There is only one playoff game on today’s schedule, and that would be Game 5 of the American League Division Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Seattle Mariners. Although the series is tied at 2-2 (obviously, as that’s the only way to even get a Game 5), the Mariners have […]

Coyotes Game 80 Preview: Coyotes face Oilers in the penultimate game of the road trip

Game Preview The Arizona Coyotes’ final road trip has been exciting so far. They started with a commanding win over San Jose, only to get destroyed by the Seattle Kraken in their second game. Then, on Wednesday, after allowing the Vancouver Canucks to come back from a 3-1 deficit, Logan Cooley notched his 19th of the season to give the Coyotes their first win over the Canucks this season. It was an excellent night for Dylan Guenther, who was involved in all four of the Coyotes’ goals...
