As the only player to have accomplished the MVP Trifecta (Most Valuable Player Award, the League Championship Most Valuable Player Award and the World Series Most Valuable Player Award) in the same season, Willie Stargell’s place in the Hall of Fame was also cement...
Last night, big news came down for the Kentucky Wildcats and other college basketball programs, as Milan Momcilovic, one of the top players in the transfer portal, announced that he withdrew from the NBA Draft and will return to college basketball. It’s big news for Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats, who are looking to […]
It was 91 degrees Fahrenheit during the match.
Ohio State’s offense might once again be one of the most talented groups in college football, but unlike some recent years, several key roles still feel fluid entering the summer. The Buckeyes have proven stars returning, high-end transfers arriving, and elite freshmen pushing for early opportunities. But as spring practice and the spring game showed, […]
The Montreal Canadiens ' rebuild arrived ahead of schedule.
They've made it to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Carolina Hurricanes, seven wins away from the Stanley Cup, and are doing it with a roster younger than almost anyone in the league expected to be here this fast. They're currently down 3-1 in the series after winning the first game, however.
The question Kent Hughes now faces is whether to stay patient and trust the system or accelerate the timeline by moving one of his ...
The Detroit Lions’ roster is nearly at 90 players, and it can be hard to keep track of everyone. With new players being added all offseason long, some players who have hung around from last year or longer have been pushed down the depth chart and maybe even forgotten by some more casual fans. So […]

The NCAA track and field championships began Wednesday, with teams from the eastern side of the United States competing at the University of Kentucky. Five Terps are set to compete in the first round — but one has already guaranteed his place in the quarterfinals. Sophomore Roman Spikes, a native of Burtonsville, Maryland, ran the […]
Last summer, there wasn’t much to expect from Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens approaching the 2025 NBA Draft. Boston entered the night with three late selections — No. 28, 46, and 57 — yet still managed to reel in a little-known prospect with the potential to impact winning more than most rookies in […]
It’s been a long, strange journey to the 2026 countdown. At this time one year ago, we eagerly awaited the start of a season with dreams of it ending with a national championship. As you know, those dreams were quickly dashed as the James Franklin Era came to an abrupt end. It looked like things […]
SGA’s attorney demanded Underdog “destroy” a board game poking fun at him.
Over the years, Mike Krzyzewski has done commercials for many companies. This State Farm ad may not be his finest, but it’s fun, and it may have some historical relevance. In the ad, Coach K is essentially running a fantasy camp. The ad dates from around 2003–2005, which aligns with when the Coach K Fantasy […]

Younghoe Koo spent part of last season on the east side of Manhattan kicking for the Giants.
Now he is heading to the other borough.
The New York Jets have signed the veteran kicker, adding him to a 90-man roster that already features Cade York and Lenny Krieg in what has become a three-man kicking competition heading into training camp.
Koo, 31, comes to New York by way of the NFL's now-familiar kicker carousel.
The Falcons released him after a missed game-tying 44-yard field goal att...

The Chicago Cubs have signed left-handed reliever Aaron Bummer to a minor league contract, adding a veteran arm to a bullpen that has been one of the more injury-ravaged units in baseball this season.
Bummer was released by the Atlanta Braves on May 19 after posting a 7.63 ERA and an 8.62 FIP across 19 appearances and 15.1 innings, with a walk-to-strikeout ratio of 10 to 13 that showed a pitcher who could not consistently miss bats or locate his fastball.
He is expected to report to Triple...

The Texas Rangers designated Andrew McCutchen for assignment ahead of their game against the Houston Astros, ending the veteran's tenure in Arlington after 37 games and signing utility infielder Nicky Lopez to a one-year major league contract in a corresponding move.
McCutchen, 39, signed with Texas on a minor league deal in March and earned his way onto the Opening Day roster, serving primarily as the right-handed half of a designated hitter platoon with Joc Pederson. McCutchen Heads to the...
Do the Bucs need a DH? One just got released onto the market, as former Pittsburgh Pirates star Andrew McCutchen was just designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers. The Bucs have two big, glaring holes in their hitting lineup. First one is at catcher, where Endy Rodriguez is hitting .319, but only with 19 […]
